Seamless process. You send all the required information and the claim was processed and paid within 8 weeks. A few notes: 1) They should have a process for direct deposit for claims into customer's bank account 2) Their email response was slow but they did answer and completed the process.

The claims process was a little frustrating due to slow email communication. I had to call so many phone numbers and email WorldTrips just to get the correct email for claims. It was inconvenient to be calling long distance while still traveling. I did eventually get reimbursed for my medical expenses after approx 6 weeks and a number of back and forth emails. I was surprised to receive the reimbursement check since I did not get an email confirming that reimbursement was in process and approved. The lack of status update was frustrating but I was glad to receive the check.

Had to make a claim based on a weather delay. The online portal was great, easy to use, and had clear instructions. My case was straightforward and handled quickly.

Slow processing, and difficult to figure out how to submit on their website. Difficult to get help with submission.

Very easy process to make a claim.

    WorldTrips policy: Atlas Journey Preferred

Their claim process is cumbersome and inefficient. The third party vendor they use to handle claims has a customer portal that does not work and after repeated attempts to resolve the login issues I gave up. They only send out letters via mail which is ineffective when you are on travel, resulting in further delays. Why they don’t send document requests via email, which is more efficient, further degrades the quality of their customer service.

    Review Updated: 04/04/2025

The process was slow and tedious. Instead of utilizing electronic means to communicate with the claimant they chose to use the U.S. postal system vice electronic means. This makes no sense considering the fact that they have a customer portal. Additionally, their instructions on what supporting documents are needed to complete the claim failed to list all of the relevant documents required which caused further delay. They need to take a lesson or two from their competitors like Allianz insurance on how to have a more efficient process.

Having to actually utilize any insurance policy for its intended purpose is never a pleasant experience, In this case having read what was required in making a claim and in also having the required supporting documentation as well made the outcome work. With that being said, the process is cumbersome and it required multiple emails and conversations as well an exhaustive amount of documentation to be submitted in order for the claim to be paid. In my humble opinion there should be an way to process a claim, but I do understand the necessity for validation, you just should not have to send the same data in the same package multiple times before you realize agreement.
