I had to cancel the trip before it would have started due to medical reasons. I have trip cancellation included in my policy I purchased. But am still working on getting my refund. I feel at the present time like they are making me jump through obvious hoops that they could easily verify that I did everything correctly. Am still waiting on it all to be finalized and refunded.
Our agent was awesome and took the time to explain everything to me before purchasing a policy
Customer service was a bit slow. I waiting on the online chat function for over 30 mins and no one responded. When I called I also waited a long time to finally talk to someone
We contacted WorldTrips on April 23rd regarding the baggage delay and personal effects claim. They assigned us a claim number (199751), but never followed up. We contacted them once again on May 14th, for both baggage delay and travel interruption, and they assigned another claim number (T42960). We received an automated reply on this same date stating "*This is an automatic reply that is only meant to confirm receipt of your email. This is not a response to the email submitted to our office. Please do not respond to this automatic reply.**". To date, we have not received any further correspondence and the form for travel interruption from WorldTrips.
They paid the claims and I am very grateful. However only 4 stars because the website is so ghastly to use. I tried to check on my claims status after about 8 business days, and it said there we no claims! It also said claims wouldn't show on the website until they'd been reviewed by their staff. So I had no idea when that might be. I finally wrote their customer service only to be told that the claims had been paid and I could expect a check soon. So I was very happy, but not sure why this couldn't be seen on the website. There didn't seem to be a way to contact a person live either too inquire. Hopefully they'll fix/update the website. But overall I was pleased they did in fact pay the claims I submitted in a generally timely way. Just please improve the communication with customers!
It is hard to compare so many offerings, especially when I don't understand the minute differences in coverage. The representatives always help me make a decision and came up with different ways to meet the variety of needs that we had.
In our case, we needed assistance to get a medication in the UK that we had left home in the US. They were so responsive and helpful. We ultimately did not get the medication because my husband didn't want to take time out of our trip to do it, but I'm sure that process would have been as easy as it is to purchase the policy. I can't say enough about how grateful I am that we had the ability to find medical care and that World Trips made it so easy.
Submitting the appropriate paperwork was user friendly. However, uploading docs was more challenging with different sections to upload and a potential to duplicate. Wasn't able to delete the previous upload into another section. I had to add another doc after submitting the request, which was straightforward.
The whole process was quick (1 week). However, there is no way to check the status of your claim. Or any notification that the claim was approved and payment sent until I contacted them to inquire.
It would be more convenient to be able to receive the check(s) through electronic deposit. They mailed them instead.
Overall, a very good experience. I used this company again for our upcoming trip.
thanks
I haven’t heard anything after filing a claim two weeks ago. Please reach out asap with an update. Thanks.
Kind of curious to receive this reply from the claims adjuster:
"All claims are reviewed based upon the claim documents received and the policy provisions, limitations and exclusions. Please review your Confirmation of Coverage to determine if you purchased Trip Interruption coverage and the policy for the full details about the Trip Interruption coverage."
Shouldn't they know that my policy included that coverage and if it didn't shouldn't they have told me that?
WorldTrips pushed me off to their claims company CBP Connect, which has been very slow to process my claim. It has been over 3 weeks with no progress that I can see.
Philip,
We apologize for any inconvenience, due to the holiday’s things are taking a bit longer. You will be receiving a response this week.
Thank you for your patience.
