AXA Assistance Travel Insurance Reviews

I called the AXA 24 hour Assistance line asking for help in locating a hospital in Palermo Italy during our trip because of an acute cardiac problem that I was having. The polite lady answered promptly and then put me on hold during which time I was able to enter an emergency room and had to hang up. She emailed me the response but unfortunately the hospital recommended did not provide 24 hour patient care available and so the information was really not useful as it was Sunday. Fortunately, I did not have a major cardiac event and I was able to get medical care on my own. The care was gratis so I did not have to file a claim.

I filed 2 claims, one for health and the other for travel. I have NOT received a claim number for either.

Actually our experience was pretty uneventful, we did not need to use your insurance.

I have a claim during my trip and it is in the review process. It has been a week and I have not heard anything back from AXA Assistance USA. I am waiting for the reimbursable funding.

I think claims should be handled in a more timely manner.

AXA promptly reimbursed my medical expenses, after I sent the requested documentation and billing info.
I had no problems with this claim, and will happily use AXA again.
