“AXA Assistance USA policy: GoldWe thought we had submitted a reasonable claim for lost activities due to problems with the ship maintaining our scheduled stops, but AXA found a way to justify denying the claim. I had a similar claim accepted and compensated by another company a few years ago.

After years of dealing with insurance companies in the US, I figured it would be a similar hassle (if not worse) while abroad. Instead the service was easy, and communication was clear and efficient. The agent helped me locate a clinic, contacted the clinic directly on our behalf, and within a couple of hours we had seen a doctor and were leaving with all the medicines we needed.
You hope you won't need to use insurance while traveling, but when we did, it helped us immensely.

My husband needed to see a doctor while we were in Bali, Indonesia. Not only did we find a great doctor quickly, AXA called the clinic directly so that the clinic would bill AXA and we didn't have to get reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses. I was a far better experience than we have ever had with healthcare in the United States.
