First contact on filing a claim , it seemed the only motive the individual had was to dissuade me from filing a claim, how about some empathy after being attacked and robbed , barely able to leave the country which was in a state of emergency, honestly, you want me to remain behind to get a police report? Then reciting the policy fine print totally unsympathetic. Sorry AXA, your intake folks need some sensitivity training. I doubt I will be purchasing trip cancellation again, it is a total waste of money ,unless you drop dead before the trip. Now I wait for 30 days for the claim adjuster to reject the claim reciting some other reason, boy, have they got you screwed ,you just can't win !! I wonder what the over all percentage of successful claims made is ?

I was happy with the insurance that was provided. during the trip I had wonderful weather and excellent health and not accidents so I am grateful all went well.
I wanted a paper copy and it took several phone calls to get it. Staff were pleasant.
The payment format for trip cost increases is cumbersome. Otherwise, the staff are very professional and knowledgeable in their interaction with the client.

I'm so dissapointed with the experience I had with AXA Insurance.... It was my first time to try purchasing a travel insurance last December, thinking that if anything happens on my luggage (lost, delay, etc) it will be protected. Unfortunately, they denied my claim since they said that according to their policy a receipt is needed to file a claim. I had my 13 hours straight flight and my luggage was delayed more than 24 hours which I thought more than enough to file the claim for the delay. The agent said that I need to show a receipt that I purchased something in order for them to pay me for my claim. I told them that how can I purchased something wherein I'm already exhausted on my straight flight. They don't have considerations for the hassle of the delay of getting back my luggage. The point of going back the following day to the airport to claim the delayed luggage... Definitely, after the experience I had, I won't recommend them.

This was my first experience with purchasing trip insurance. This was my first trip in which almost all of the cost of the trip was prepaid, and trip interruption or cancellation would have represented a substantial financial loss. I spent a lot of time comparing policies on Squaremouth. The AXA policies were easy to understand, and the coverage offered by the AXA Gold policy appeared to me to be a good value compared to other products. The purchase process on Squaremouth was easy. After the purchase, I did have to contact AXA USA customer service to clarify that the total trip cost being insured was not evenly distributed between my husband and me, but was higher for me than for my husband. AXA customer service was helpful and easy to deal with. Fortunately my husband and I stayed healthy before and during the trip, and we did not suffer any losses. I will definitely recommend Squaremouth and AXA Assistance USA to friends.
