I filed the claim for my fight delay. I was compensated for the hotel room but been rejected to cover my expenses for the food and transportation to and from the airport.
I cancelled my trip one day before departure. The policy was for 18 days and fairly inexpensive. I contacted Detour Insurance to cancel the policy since it was not going to be used and asked whether I would be eligible for a partial refund. Have not heard from them since.
Will use Detour Insurance for our next trip

Detour Travel Health Insurance was very quick to settle my sickness claim and I was paid in full for my medical expenses.
Three weeks after filing a claim by email I have not heard from them other than an auto-reply acknowledging receipt of an email. I fear I will have to chase them down.

They are an automatic Deny insurance company. Will never buy their product again. Deceptive marketing.
