Detour contracts with a 3rd party CBPConnect to handle their claims. It is EXTREMELY difficult to find a phone number or make a connection with that company. We heard NOTHING for over two weeks. I called and managed to get through to someone who was very nice and helpful and discovered through her that the claim had been approved and a check had been mailed out a couple days before. So mixed reviews- I am VERY HAPPY that the claim was paid and relatively quickly! I was anticipating a battle since that’s the “insurance way”. But CBPConnect communication practices could certainly use improvement.

Detour was great- I got sick in the middle of our trip and had to cancel the remainder-it took about 6 weeks to get reimbursed, no questions asked after i submitted documentation. I am already using them for another trip
