Had to cancel our trip due to wife stroke. We had a partial reimbursement from the cruise line which was immediate. However, the rest of the claim took longer than expected and they were overboard in seeking proof for our payment of original fares, but after two waiting periods of time, they paid the claim in full. Would not use them again.
Cruise was cancelled due to a health issue.
The customer service agent answered my questions clearly and even repeated the info to reassure me
Filed claim for total loss of trip due to medical emergency.
They have only acknowledged receipt of the claim.
Length of time it took to get the letter of guarantee (over an hour). Complication of providing proof of travel dates while in the urgent care. I had called HTH the day before to ask about how to use the policy at the urgent care. They said nothing about the necessity of a letter of guarantee, or the procedure for getting it. The process could have started before I was sitting in urgent care waiting room. They demanded an estimated cost of service to issue the guarantee letter before I had even seen the doctor. How am I supposed to know what tests or procedures the doctor wants and the costs of them before they evaluate me? Trying to organize this all this in the waiting room and pulling together documents on my cellphone, while suffering from respiratory distress and high fever.
When I did see the doctor, they wanted to do an MRI, but I was put off from doing this because it hadn't been approved initially and I couldn't imagine going through the whole approval process again.
I don't see anywhere on HTH website or in the policy documents where it clearly explains the procedure is for using the policy. The necessity of a letter of guarantee is a big factor, yet it wasn't mentioned when I spoke to the agent at HTH the day before I went, they made it sound like all I had to do was show up at the "network" "hth" rated provider and give them my policy number.
Had to cancel trip because of a medical emergency. Just filed claim and am awaiting response.
When I ordered my travel insurance, I remember selecting trip cancellation/interruption coverage. When my trip ended up being cancelled as a result of the unexpected war in the Middle East, not only was I not provided with any reimbursement, but the 24-hour customer service was not able to assist me outside of standard operating hours.
I emailed them and sent documentation but I have not heard anything else about the claim
We had to cancel our trip due to sickness and I submitted all of the information that HTH wanted which they mailed to me very promptly. The customer service people were very courteous and very understanding and we'll see how long it will take for us to get our money back and if there's any problems. So far we have been very pleased. Thank you
