HTH Travel Insurance customers appreciate the option to submit claims documents online and feel that the policies offer good value for their money. However, some travelers report having trouble contacting the provider’s 24-hour Emergency Assistance department.
I have been trying to change policy dates and destination for about a month with HTH and still no resolution. I have never encountered this many problems with other travel insurance companies. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase a policy from them again, even if they cost less than a competitor.
HTH has great website for policy holders. Was able to print lists of medical facilities in major cities where I was traveling. I was also able to print declarations of insurance for specific countries which showed policy details and covid medical coverage - many countries are requiring theses as part of the documentation for admission. I actually saw travelers denied admission due to incorrect or inadequate documentation. This was in South America. I remained healthy and had no claims so cannot comment on their response in this circumstance.
I received the wrong forms for my claim. I am not able to make contact with an agent in order to correct this. I am very frustrated !!!
HTH customer service is overwhelmed on the backend with calls, so exasperatingly long wait times to connect with an agent. However, once connected, the agent was very caring, thorough and helpful. I cannot comment on the claim processing yet.
My husband had to seek medical care while on our cruise. We have submitted the bill to our insurance company to see what they will pay and then will submit remainder of bill to HTH Travel insurance. I will say that looking at the submission paperwork, there is a lot to get to fill out a claim . I would think a bill with medical costs would be sufficient.
I have so far been shuffled to 3 different phone numbers. The last one is supposedly the claims department, but I cannot get a human there. So, I am waiting until we return to the US to file a claim.
No one to talk with, no feedback on my concerns about traveling during pandemic
Had to change my travel plans and rebuy new tickets before trip, and therefore, change the policy. The agent seemed a bit gruff though he was unclear initially with his instructions and I requested for clarification. But overall process is fine.
I have emailed about making a claim and how to do it and no one has contacted me.
The service was horrible despite receiving great reviews in Fortune Magazine. The 24 hours representatives were limited in viewing the policy and could not make the necessary comments or adjustments to the policy when a problem ensued. Furthermore, it was horrific in handling international issues which is the primary purpose of obtaining the policy in the first place.
1- The online system did not work and did not enable actions to be taken.
2. You wanted forms to be downloaded and written on then scanned and sent back. How difficult if you don't have a printer and access to a scanner. Instead of being able to fill the forms online upload pictures and use docusign to sign electronically. It assumed that all the conveniences of home were abroad and did not consider the limitations of technology abroad.
3. The 24 hours customer service answered and then could not view the policy because it was handled by another department that kept you on hold for over 2 hours on multiple occasions.
4. This did not serve the intended purpose by failure to provide adequate and relevant information on a timely basis.
The experience has been horrible.

Zuleika
