Lots of paperwork involved and it took a little longer than I though it should have to get my claim approved and the money spent for the trip refunded.
I've purchased thru squaremouth several times now. each time I've received excellent service. thankfully I've never had to file a claim but i will certainly come back to squaremouth before my next trip.
I purchased my travel insurance policy in good faith expecting the same from John Hancock. On the last day of my trip a few hours before I had to leave for the airport I fell and broke three of my front teeth. When I got home I saw my dentist to have them repaired. I filed a claim with John Hancock and they denied my claim. I will not buy a policy from them again.
Insurance was great to have. One issue...on Squaremouth, we purchased insurance for total amount of trip for 3 of us. We received 3 separate policies with amount evenly divided. However, the cruise line's costs were not billed that way. I would have been underinsured by $1000 if I hadn't noticed. I called John Hancock who fixed it by charging me more, but my son's insurance cost would have been $10 less but they wouldn't refund it. There was no option on your website to put the correctly insured amount for each of us. Can that be added in the future?

I did call to make sure the policy I was purchasing was the best for this trip. The agent confirmed that it covered what I needed very well.
We had to cancel our trip because of an injury that required surgery and rehab. We were able to take care of our refund request all on line. We submitted all the paperwork with our request. We submitted it on Saturday which was approved after a few days. Received a check a week after that. It was a surprisingly easy process. We will use John Hancock as a travel insurance provider in the future.
