First, I would like to compliment Kevin who assisted me on the phone when I called the 24 hour assistance line on 1/29/23. We had just learned that my husband's father had passed away and we would not be able to embark on our cruise ship. He was very sympathetic and gave me clear instructions what to do when we returned home and the documents that would be needed. He is to be commended for his excellent customer service.
However, it has been a very difficult process trying to submit a claim online. Answered all the information, attached ALL the required forms, agreed to the policies at the end, typed my name and marked no to the robot......still would not let me submit the claim or allow me to save the draft so I spent a lot of time attempting to do it numerous times. It has been frustrating...... I spoke with someone on the phone 2/21 who took down some information but now I have to wait to get an email that will allow me to upload my documents. I tried the upload portal but that wouldn't accept anything either. So, it is only the website that I have had difficulty with at this point. during my trip I have had 2 incidents ( first was medical emergency , second was missing connection) are still waiting to receive the claim forms however the interaction with claim agents was excellent which very professional, attentive, courteous, and helpful , I am glad to get helps at time in needed
Called before the trip to request a Covid coverage letter. The agent was very nice and I received the letter within 24 hrs.
My luggage was lost for 48 hours. It was found & delivered to me for $50USD, the charge for its transport to me. I was happy to pay.
Easy to sign up but filing a claim takes time to process. I send my claim last Jan 19 and almost a month now no feedback yet.
I am still waiting to have my claim settled. I filed the claim on November 2, 2022 and it still has not been settled. I have called numerous times to inquire about the status of my claim but it seems impossible to talk to the person handling the claim. Unacceprable

It took forever for my claim to be processed and it was almost impossible to contact someone to check on the status
I was only asked for proof of COVID insurance (my policy) while visiting 1 country on my itinerary. Because of an illness during my trip, I came extremely close to using the policy. Fortunately, I did not have to make a claim. I think I will risk it the next time and just put enough money aside for the expenses the policy coverage statement detailed. As with all insurance, I think it is a waste of money.
I called customer service while in the Philippines because I had minor mishap in a mall, had X-ray but they paid for it. The customer service told me I’m covered if I have to pay and can make a claim on line. That gave me reassurance and peace of mind.
I called and spoke with John Hancock prior to filing my claim. They were very easy to get on the phone to discuss my situation (Peru political unrest) and suggested that I file.
I filed a claim on Dec, 30th, 2022 and it has not yet completed processing. I receive emails every two weeks with a general message that they're overwhelmed with claims and need more time.
I thought that my claim should be very easy to process so I'm not sure why the delay. I'm also not sure what length of time is considered normal processing time but I hope that it will complete soon.
on December , 2022 my wife broke off her crown. I contacted Squaremouth to ask for assistance and you were unable to help me find a dental office to fix her tooth.
On January 2, 2023 I was visiting my wife Mother and Farther grave in a cemetery located in Vietnam.

I’m extremely dissatisfied with your insurance. You say trip interrupted or unable to travel you can get your money back. I fractured my foot and it was well documented. You are a joke of a insurance… we need more government control on insurance. The insurance company take your money but doesn’t want to pay out…. Bad faith insurance….. .shame on you….Hancock Insurance company goes by many names. When you file a claim you will not get any response (they know better). When you finally contact them they acknowledge your claim and later says oh you contacted the wrong company. You gave me the phone number. Then you email them and they say they never received the email. Then you redo it and then they say we can’t open it. You mail them a copy certified and they tell you have to do it o their forms. Then you complete the forms then they want more and more dragging it out. I was in Vietnam for 42 days. I should have book an earlier flight home But they wouldn’t pay for it Right! I save them thousand of dollar by just waiting for my flight. They say they have 24 hour a day and 7 days a week you can contact them. When you email them for help or guidance it takes 48 hours. Then they respond we need your date of birth. You contact them again then say need policy number. You have all ready provided you full name, address, phone number. You email they and they respond back in a unprofessional manner. They just drag it out without helping you to find a doctor or advise what to do. They act like a two year old when responding.
No helpful attitude just stupid response. This is a first for me complaining about a company but I’m not through with them yet. I will be taking my time to correct my grammar and spelling and to document Hancock Inc. or who ever they are on Facebook and any and all media.
