Before i purchased my trip protection, many of our friends said it was a waste of time and money but I purchased it anyway just Incase anything unexpected.
On 4/24 at the airport ticket counter, I unexpectedly/unforeseeably found out that my name on the ticket was not exactly matched to my passport. Expedia cancelled the trip at the airport so I missed my mother’s 80th birthday celebration.
Fortunately airline refunded most money except $520 cancellation and seating fees. One of the nationwide representatives said that I should submit trip cancellation claim but not trip interruption to nationwide for the rest. I did but got denied.
Was unable to file a claim. I was told that I could not file a claim for the reason of cancellation.
United Airlines asked for an Australian document that I was not told about. United asked for passport, Covid documentation, and mandatory insurance. Then they asked for an Australian Electronic Travel Approval ( ETA). At the airport check in counter 3 hrs before departure.
We were told by United Airlines that we could not board our flight without the ETA. There was not enough time to apply and receive the ETA before our flight. Our flight was non refundable and canceling our cruise two days before was 100% not refundable.
We lost the cost of the whole vacation. I feel that United Airlines should have had the ETA in their check list for ready to fly.
We had been advised by United Airlines that we were flight ready and that no other documents were needed. So in my opinion this insurance should cover the not being able to board, canceling our vacation. Please advise.
My grandson fell ill on our vacation, and when I called your office, the person there helped me through my many questions. It was very comforting to have someone who could give advice in a difficult time.
After our trip when I began my claim, your agent walked me through the steps, answered my questions, and overall made it so easy to complete the process. I travel often, and from now on, I will be using Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company as my go to travel insurance company. Thank you!
It took one month for them to settle the matter
The online access to filed claims was nonexistent. After submitting a claim, there was no way to track it.
Great price for excellent coverage.
I am so pleased with how Squaremouth stood behind me in this claim. It only took one e-mail for them them to get on board and begin to help. I also want to think Nationwide , they stood behind their policy once they received all the necessary documents. I have since purchased two more policies through Squaremouth.
It was great to feel that my trip was protected. It was a lot of money to lose if I had not been able to go. I appreciate the peace of mind.
It took 7 phone calls to reach an agent who was clearly working from home and not engaged in the phone call. I had to prompt him to respond at every point in the conversation.
My luggage was delayed for two days. Insurance did not pay me because they said I did not buy the personal items due to luggage delayed. I was in dirty clothes for two days.
