Customers generally have positive experiences with Nationwide’s customer service, praising agents for being helpful and easy to reach. However, some note that claims can take longer than expected to process, with delays in response times once a claim is filed.
As we mentioned we travelled from 12/25 to 1/20 and on 1/7, I contacted your customer support from Santiago, Chile through email and mentioned about our trip interruption but so far, I did not hear back from your customer service. I also tried calling but due to overseas, it did not go through. Anyway, after we came back on 1/20, I filed a claim and please review it and let us know at your earliest convenience.
Thanks,

Everything has been smooth so far. Will give better input once claim is settled.
i was told that they are not able to give me any idea as to when they would be able to process my claim. Not if weeks, a month or any number. i am not ok with that.
Great Overall communication, super experience!
trouble contacting agents see how the rest goes. bad enough vacation interrupted ,now to have a problem producing documents is another fight
My flight was on December 14 to Cebu, Philippines from Salt Lake to LA then Cebu. Due to the severe weather condition in Cebu, the flight was delayed then canceled. I immediately called the number on the travel insurance to let them know that I will be filing a claim due to the interruption of the trip. I got an email from customer service detailing my travel insurance policy. I sent an email to the NMIC but I never received feedback from them on issues on how to file a claim.
I canceled my trip for Dec 25 on Dec 3 . It was canceled on the 10th day of the 10 day waiting period. They would not issue a full refund . Their reasoning is that , I could not provide proof of the Full $2000 spent was refunded . Who gets an insurance policy for the exact amount they actually spent ?? No one does , you over estimate . And you don’t expect to get the insured amount if something goes wrong . This is very irritating!
My husband had to have surgery the week of our trip. We turned in all required
Paperwork 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing from them. I have emailed for updates with no response other than a standard we’ll get back to you. Very disappointed in their lack of communication and resolving our case.
Review Updated: 02/23/2022
The claim was sent Nov. 8th. January 2nd they contacted me to update a form. Faxed it Jan. 6th. Still waiting for our refund. It has now been close to 4 months.
In mid February I contacted them to find out the status and to see if they received the fax. They said they are working on it. Last week received an email saying they are still working on it.
VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
