In trying to file a claim, I was unable to create an account on the Nationwide site. I have made multiple attempts and will continue to try.
You are required to create an account before you can file a claim. So far no luck getting an agent on the phone, although I did speak to an agent immediately following the trip. So far the word is that a claim cannot be filed if it was an airline operational issue. I believe the rescheduled flight was again delayed due to crew not arriving due to weather. The first flight delay was aircraft malfunction.

Still waiting for my claim to be processed
We are still waiting on the bill from the hospital clinic visit.
I submitted all of the required forms and back-up to Nationwide on July 24 and really had expected to hear something by now regarding the status of my claim.

It would be helpful if Nationwide would provide a link to check on the status of the claim. In addition, I submitted the claim on July 25 and did not get a status update until I requested one in mid-August. I was told via email that they did not receive my paperwork until August 11. How is that even possible when it was sent via email? I did receive full reimbursement, which I am grateful for. And while I will continue to use Squaremouth, I don't think I will choose Nationwide again.
I had to call because they did not respond to my initial email. The rep I spoke to was very helpful. I also never received any info after filing the claim online. I had to call to check the status. Overall satisfactory, but they can be a little more communicative.
Very frustrated. We submitted everything we were asked to submit and we’re getting no response. I am on the verge of reporting to the insurance commissioner
This claim has been approved for payment. The benefit checks were mailed on 8/06/24.
Did not use policy but glad it was there
We were unable to take our trip due to illness. Nationwide reimbursed us completely. Their processing took about a month. It was all done by email and was very easy. Thankfully, I was able to download the doctor's form that they required and take it to our doctor for him to fill out. Be aware that a general doctor's note may not suffice for insurers.
When I realized that my policy was for more than I had paid for my trip, I notified the provider, and they quickly adjusted my policy and refunded my over-payment. Excellent customer service!
Too many steps to file a claim. Automated responses asking for items that had nothing to do with my claim. No ability to talk directly to a person.
