Too soon to say much. Still too sick to file.

The agent was very helpful and cheerful. I think she did a great job given the rules she had to follow.
But the number different forms, documents they required me to find and submit seemed to have nothing to do with the claim took hours and hours. IN terms of lost time at work, the value may have exceeded what I got in my claim. For instance, even though the claim was for the 2 days of extension due to illness, and the change in flights needed, they required all of my receipts and boarding passes from all the flights on the whole 3 week trip from the time we left home, and informaiton about the cruise we had booked in the middle. THese were things which did not seem to relate to the extension. Somethings required multiple levels of proof, which were challenging to find and copy and send in.
There were also small disappointmets of things that were disallowed. For instance, they would pay for me to get to my home airport, but not for the Uber to get from the airport home, (as the original plan of having someone pick us up was now not available). I think they would have paid for a car rental, but because someone was nice enough to loan us their car, and I only had to fill the tank with gas at the end, they would not pay for that, even though it was much cheaper than what the car rental would have been. They would have paid for a hotel, but because someone offered us a discount Air BNB apartment if we would pay cash, but the insurance company would not accept any sort of statement from us attesting to the bargain $50 we paid. If we had paid the whole $200 per night and had gotten a receipt, I think then they would have paid. But the hosts were so kind to let us just pay a fraction because I was ill. So, these were not huge deal breakers, just small rule-oriented things that were annoying because they would have covered much more expensive things but not the cheaper things that actually happened. It just seemed like needless beauraucracy!
Claim process extremely time consuming and frustrating
Unfortunately, I had to get emergency open heart surgery a week before our scheduled trip. Very disappointed we had to cancel but thankful to be alive. We have sent all data in to Arch but have not heard back yet regarding a full refund. The airline, rental car and ferry service have already given us a complete refund. We are going next year and depending how this goes, we will be purchasing insurance from some entity.
I changed the dates of my trip to August 31 thru September 16, 2025 when my travel partner's husband had significant health issues and she needed to stay at home. The cost of the new trip was a bit more, so the new total premium was $170.00. Customer service with Arch RoamRight was great. They answered all my questions and were easy to work with. However, now I have a significant health issue myself and need to have a cardiac defect repaired this summer. My cardiologist tells me that even if everything goes as planned, I will still be in recovery and September is too early to travel. I will be cancelling this trip and asking to be reimbursed for my deposit of £200 and a transfer fee (from the original trip) for £40.
I got sick in Scottland and needed assistance in finding urgent care. Your customer service was awesome and she even followed up with me 3 days laters to make sure I was ok. I did not need to file a claim because the health care in Scottland is free. (Imagine that... free health care!) Home safe and sound but I will use you again!
Thank you!

Always use Arch.
Our return flight delay claim was quickly paid. Our baggage delay claim took much longer. Almost a month. The process of uploading supported documentation was cumbersome and tedious because I can only upload one document/one photo at a time. Also nowhere in the filing claim process was I given an option how to get paid for my claims, by check or quick pay. Yet the system had already decided for me when I called to ask.
I had no need to file a claim, but I did need to extend the coverage date. It was easy to do. Will use ARR again.
Claim is pending as I gather required documentation
I found it very easy to use my trip insurance, from a previous trip that I had to cancel, to the one I just returned from. I called and spoke to a customer service person and very quickly, my policy was used toward my new trip. Thank you.
Mary,
