Many Arch RoamRight customers highlight the provider’s quick claims process and compassionate customer service representatives. However, some travelers report that updates on their claim status are rare, and gathering the needed documents for claims can be challenging.
Even with all of the hurricanes that I'm sure kept RoamRight busy, they handled my claim well and I had a check within two weeks of filing a claim.
A couple of tips:
- Calling was much more effective than e-mailing.
- Payout for a claim will come split between everyone in your party. If only the policy purchaser has an account on the RoamRight website, you'll only see the amount you personally are receiving, not the total, so don't be confused.

Email address that RoamRight gave to submit claims gave a read receipt but roamright never received it. Claim has been submitted twice now with NO response from roamright. I am having to resort to certified mail and I still don't know if I will be covered. So far I am very unimpressed with this insurance. I have not gotten any confirmation of receipt of my claim from a human for the past two email submissions.
I will wait until my claim is resolved.

Worked well.
Unfortunately we were unable to go on our trip due to an injury sustained by my husband. Indeed this is still an ongoing problem. We obtained very explicit details and the forms necessary to file a claim. The whole process from file to reimbursement took less than three weeks. We were notified by e-mail of the progress of our claim and then that it had been settled and the check was being issued. We could not be happier with Roam Right and Arch Insurance. We have another trip planned for early next year and will be obtaining a policy through Roam Right again.
Thanks for being so great to work with in a very stressful time! For too many businesses today, "customer service" has become an oxymoron. Thanks for saying what you do and doing what you say! You will be highly recommended.

They never got tired of asking for more info. To the point that even though the travel company showed my total payments and what my penalty was for canceling, they now wanted credit card receipts. All just a game to see if you would just give up. I will never use them again
In order to thoroughly and accurately review your claim, your claims administrator needs more documentation. She sent an email requesting these documents on August 24, but she will be in contact with you again shortly.

The process took a little longer than expected, but it was approved and I am happy.
RoamRight turned out to be the best experience I've ever had with an insurance company. This policy was for my mother. She became seriously ill during her trip and was hospitalized for over a month. When it became clear that she would not improve enough to fly commercially, even with the excellent care she was receiving at her destination (in the U.S.), RoamRight paid for an air ambulance to return her home, even though this was not explicitly covered by her policy. RoamRight is a great name for this company, as they really did the right thing. We are so grateful to have Mom back home with us, and she has improved a great deal, ready to be discharged from rehabilitation. It's not clear to me if she would have recovered had she continued to stay far away from home and family. I recommend RoamRight to everyone, and I will definitely buy future policies from this company.

I have filed a claim with Roam Right because I was laid off in July before my trip. I was told I just needed a letter from my employer when I cancelled in July then I was told I had to submit more documentation which I did. Then I was asked for proof I cancelled and my carriers refund policy and I am still waiting for a reply after 3 weeks.

Roamright and their partner On Call International were available during my cancelled connection stress but unfortunately didn't have a bilingual representative available which would have been more to help me navigate the confusing out-of-my-comfort-zone situation. I've filed a claim but because of all the hurricanes going on right now it's (understandably) delayed, I'll update my review after it goes through. Overall pretty good so far, well worth the very reasonable cost.

My claims administrator was very helpful and even fixed my claim form for me after I initially filled it out wrong. Although there was some slower-than-expected communication I totally understand because of the extremely active Hurricane season -- I'm sure they were swamped. I wish the website provided more information about the status of my claim or a way to adjust a claim submission, I feel like a little web development would go a long way to improve transparency of the process and reduce unnecessary support phone calls. Everything accounted for though, I would highly recommend RoamRight to anyone traveling for any period of time. A+ service. Thank you.
