  • Arch RoamRight policy: Essential

    RoamRight denied our claim in full because we canceled our trip because of my wife's health issies. I did indicate in our claim that she had many health issues including heightened anxiety . Her physician also filed a 20 page document in support of our claim . My understanding is that he focused on her mental health issues including progressive dementia and anexoria. My understanding is that he onluy mentioned anxiety in passing . Yet , RoamRight recently sent us a claim denial based upon anxiety issues .being raised . They failed to indicate whether any consideration was even givento any other health-related issues. Needless to say , I am angry and confused by their callous attitude and insinuation that we were filing a frivolous claim .

    I plan to file an appeal based upon additional evidence that I've since obtained . Obviously , I am not hopeful based upon the the previous curt and insensitive reply that we received . Just to be clear , I am constantly dealing with her health problems and firmly believe that they would have overwhemed both of us if we had traveled to a foreign country . At this point , I would have rated my experience as a "0" based upon yje poor attitude and service shown by this loathsome company currently being supported by your internet site .I would further recommend that other tracelers avoid RoamRight at all costs if you choose to still include them on your internet site .

    As outlined in your Description of Coverage, benefits are not payable for any loss due to, arising or resulting from “a mental, or nervous or psychological disorder, unless hospitalized for that condition while the policy is in effect for You.”

    We give all filed claims our full consideration evaluate each with equal thoroughness. We understand your frustration, but we must administer claims decisions pursuant to the benefits and exclusions in the Description of Coverage.

    RoamRight handled my claim very quickly, I was very happy with their service and will definitely continue to use them for my travel insurance needs!

    My claim has already been paid and I would use Roam Right again. In fact, I have yet another policy with them for an upcoming trip. The only thing that was a problem was that I had to file a claim because of a family member's health who was not traveling with us. They were not able to attach the medical information for that person to our claim until I called them.

    Filed a baggage claim immediately the day after return. Now that i has been a week, I still haven't heard back a thing, not even a confirmation of claim receipt. I hope this will work out. fingers crossed.

    We broke our bottle of duty free wine at the customs area upon arrival. Luckily, our policy covers it. The receipt was also destroyed in the bag and threw away together by Customs staff. Roamright covers without the receipt at 80%, which is better than nothing. I am satisfied even though when i called before filing the claim, the representative did not inform me the rate would be discounted without a receipt.

    At the moment, it is taking us 3-4 weeks to review and process claims for payment.     Ultimately it was a fairly easy process & I received a check rather quickly (I had cancelled a trip - European hotel & airfare -- due to a death in the family). The only thing that was a little confusing was the fact that I filed one claim on behalf of myself & my husband, but I received 2 checks (one for me, one for him). Initially I thought I was receiving only 50% of what I claimed, but in fact that 50% represented my share of the total. They accepted all my emails (from airlines, hotels, Orbitz) as proof of my purchases, which proved to be convenient.
