I am still waiting for information regarding my claim. I sent in VERY WELL documented information, but never seem to get past the process of Roam Right receiving my information and providing the name of my claims agent. I sent her an email asking what my claim status was, but never received a reply. I keep hearing reps say they have lots of claims right now because of the Florida Panhandle hurricane. I could understand that if Roam Right was a homeowners insurance company, but it's a travel insurance company. As far as there being numerous claims for canceled flights, I do not believe it. Airlines do not penalize customers impacted by extreme weather that grounds their flights. Also, what kind of traveler takes out trip insurance for 2-3 flights in the USA? What tremendous volume of claims are they talking about???

We received your claim on October 16 and are reviewing claims in the order in which we received them. Due to a high volume of claims as a result of the recent hurricanes, we are asking for your patience during this process.
When a hurricane threatens – and ultimately impacts – popular domestic tourist destinations such as the Florida coast, Florida panhandle, and the Carolinas, there is great impact on travelers and their plans.
Every day, thousands of savvy travelers help protect their domestic travel plans by purchasing travel insurance for their flights and other travel accommodations.
As a result of hurricanes Florence and Michael, thousands of flights were cancelled and many more were delayed. While some airlines may have policies in place for their travelers when severe weather cancels or delays their flight, this may not be the case for every traveler.
Though the airline’s cancellation policy may allow for a refund, travelers often have other accommodations that are non-refundable. Some travelers may even have already been on their trip and had to evacuate due to the impending weather. There are a number of other claimable events that can be caused by a severe hurricane.
These hurricane related claims also only add to the number of other claims filed by travelers who had their travel plans impacted for reasons outside of the scope of the storm.

Unlike some other insurance companies, Arch RoamRight had a "live" phone line for customer service. Others, only offered online services.
When I called for pre-trip information and policy clarification, I was able to speak with a representative who promptly and efficiently answered my questions. Also, Arach RoamRight offers options for political evacuations as well as the standard medical evacuations.
I had never heard of RoamRight before visiting Squaremouth's insurance comparison websites. But I have since learned that several fairly large tour groups use RoamRight. If I travel again, I certainly plan on checking in with RoamRight.

I had an eye infection on board ship to the amount of $500.00 I expected to go right through the insurance, but had to go through my primary. I have sent in all my papers to Medicare. I will see how much they pay and will submit the remainder to the insurance I purchased through Arch RoamRight (swquaremouth Policy # TVL1278163018. It will take 60 days to hear from Medicare.
My claim sat in "new" status for 6-7 weeks. After getting no response to emails, I called them. It took 3 phone calls to finally talk to a claims adjuster. The adjuster found and handled my claim promptly from that point and it was paid.
Gave me peace of mind travelling to an area prone to hurricanes. Will definitely be using RoamRight in the future.
