Many Arch RoamRight customers highlight the provider’s quick claims process and compassionate customer service representatives. However, some travelers report that updates on their claim status are rare, and gathering the needed documents for claims can be challenging.
Before the cruise, we did not receive all the paper work. We contacted the carrier and received it quickly.
Bought what I needed and didn't have to use it. Mind at ease knowing it was there if needed.
The process of purchasing my policy and receiving documentation was easy. I'm so glad I purchased the coverage, as my return was delayed due to weather, meaning the airline had no obligation to cover my expenses. I'm submitting a claim to cover two days' hotel expenses that otherwise I would have had to cover.

Straightforward claims process, no issues.
It turns out that the $500 per person missed connection benefit is woefully inadequate for international flights despite a $800 per person policy. The other limits seem as better coverage for likely need.
Fortunately, I didn't need it. It was affordable and I was happy to have it with me while I was traveling. When I called them with a question before I left for my trip, I got a very quick response and the person I spoke with was pleasant and seemed to be have a lot if information.
We actually canceled our policy before we left on our trip, when we learned that our travel agency provided travel insurance as part of our fee. I was impressed with how easy it was to cancel with no questions asked.
However, I suggest that Squaremouth prominently display information about how to cancel a policy. On the Squaremouth confirmation email I received the following statement appears:
"Money Back Guarantee: If you change your mind for any reason before 03/07/2018, we will be delighted to cancel your policy and refund your purchase."
This implies that Squaremouth does the refund, so I spent considerable time trying to contact Squaremouth by phone. The wait time was very long, so I left a message that was returned the next morning. That's when I learned that I had to contact RoamRight. A simple revision to the Money Back Guarantee statement would be helpful:
Money Back Guarantee: If you change your mind for any reason before _____, contact the insurance provider directly to cancel your policy and receive a full refund.
We left Atlanta on Mar. 2, 2018 and flew to Boston and were supposed to fly from Boston to Beijing on Mar. 2, 2018 and continue to Chengdu China but were not able to continue our trip until Mar. 4, 2018 because all flights were cancelled because of high winds. We missed 2 days vacation and spent 2 days in airport.

We received a check on April 28, 2018. Feel this was a little longer than it should have taken. We returned from trip on Mar. 16, 2018 and filed claim the next day. And, we were not compensated for all the extra expenses involved in losing two days of our vacation sitting in the airport. Further, because of the delay we had to obtain transportation on our own that was otherwise to have been included in the trip package we purchased.
I was pleased to see the Squarmouth website so I could easily compare travel insurances before my trip. I chose RoamRight after reviewing the Squaremouth site. Squaremouth indicated that should there be a problem they could intervene until we were satisfied and that clinched the deal.
I have used Squaremouth/RoamRight for my last 3 trips (never needing to make any kind of claim) and one upcoming. I do not anticipate having to use it or having any difficulties but if I do it's nice to see that Squaremouth stands behind my purchase.
We made several phone calls when we had to suddenly cancel our trip. Customer service providers were helpful and courteous. The claim is not finalized yet so we are hopeful that it will go smoothly.

Claim process was completed in a timely manner and people at Roam Right were easy to work with. My only comment, ( and this is probably true for most travel insurance companies), is that the amount of paperwork is extensive. I would suggest that travelers actually look at the actual form you would use if you had to file. For example, we had to file six months worth of medical records to show that my 96 year old mother's pneumonia was not a pre existing condition, as she was the reason we had to cancel. I would recommend the company.
We’re sorry you had to cancel your trip. Rest assured, we are in the process of reviewing your claim and will reach out if we need any additional information. You can always call or email our claims department directly if you have any questions: claims@roamright.com or 855-762-6252.
