Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

    1. I would have appreciated that the website was more clear and explicit in asking about all members of the travel party needing insurance. I was surprised by the fact that only my ticket was covered when we cancelled our trip, and not my husband's. I would have bought trip insurance under his name as well if this would have been made obvious in some way. A website could certainly include "wait! all ticket holders of your trip need to be insured. Would you like to insure another member of your party?" type information.
    2. Because there were two of us going, and only one of us insured, Seven Corners is only repaying 1/2 of our accommodation and vessel cancellation fees. This feels very unfair to me as the charges are not based on double occupancy, they are the rates that would be charged no matter the number of people.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Elite

We had to cancel our trip, and the situation was a little complicated. So putting together the claim required a large amount of detailed paperwork, which was a pain. However, once I got everything together and submitted, the claim was paid in full in a month. I am very satisfied with the outcome. Although I didn't need to use it, I particularly liked the ability to purchase the "cancel for any reason" coverage - that is a key feature for us. This is the second 7 Corners policy we have purchased through Square Mouth -- the first required no claim -- and I would (and have) recommended both Square Mouth and 7 Corners to other traveling friends.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Economy

It took 3 months to complete my claim. At times the customer service at Seven Corners was exceptional, especially from their representative Angie. However, the processing of the paperwork was terrible. They misplaced documents, failed to communicated within their agency, and showed gross ineptitude. I feel lucky that it finally was processed. I was anxious and uneasy the whole time the claim was in their hands.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

The claim process is designed to prolong and complicate the experience to such a degree that I finally gave up and walked away. I provided all of the required info when I filed the claim then was asked to go back to the hospital in NZ and the airline itself to get essentially the same info in a different form. The trauma of the accident combined with the difficulty of the claim process lead me to give up and walk away in order to preserve my limited energy. I will never use this insurance again. Buyer beware.

Seven Corners policy: Liaison Continent excl US

Policy choice on SquareMouth: I chose a policy that I thought was rather comprehensive. However, it apparently only covered medical issues.

Claims response by Seven Corners: I received only automated emails acknowledging my claim, but with no information about my claim. They say they sent postal mail denying my claim, but I never saw it. I finally found a phone number to find out what had happened.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Economy

Tried to call during high peak hours and I asked if I could be serviced since those times are for emergencies.
The person on the phone said the person that could help me was not available. So I had to call back.

Seven Corners policy: Trip Protection Choice

I'm quite please with the ease your site and phone contacts which help me to choose travel insurance. I am puzzled however just what to think about the insurer I chose, having been told different scenarios by their different agents and just what they do insure. When I explained why I hadn't filled out a page I thought related to health and didn't apply to my claim, their agent told me not to worry, she would take care of it. When the cruise was canceled a few days before we were to sail, one of their agents said whatever the mode of transport, we would be insured for the full amount of the policy. Their questions still persist and I have no idea what the outcome will be.
