AXA customers frequently mention the provider’s efficient customer service, especially when it comes to making pre-departure adjustments to a policy. However, some customers have voiced that the claims process takes too long and lacks transparency.
Unfortunately, we were one of the few travelers that had to submit a claim to our travel insurance company, and we found the process to be very frustrating. We incurred medical expenses over the course of our travels, that were very unexpected and very expensive (and frankly, traumatic). Within four days of returning from our trip, we submitted our claim to AXA with all of the documentation that AXA requested. Several months went by with no determination on our claim being made, despite numerous follow ups from us. Eventually, we were forced to threaten legal action under our insurance contract. At that point, AXA began responding to our messages and promptly paid the full amount of our claim plus interest.
Ultimately, AXA did its job and covered what it had agreed to cover, but it broke its own insurance contract in the process, and was frustratingly difficult to work with. It was, as a result, not a great experience, and why we can’t give more than three stars as a rating.
Obtaining the policy was no problem. Simple and easy to understand and obtain the insurance. After our trip we submitted two claims. Fairly straightforward having to deliver pictures and documents. One claim has been resolved satisfactorily. The second claim still in review.

Purchased two insurance coverages for me and my partner. My claim was paid based on all documentation provided, his claim was not. Both coverages are actually identical!! I appealed to no avail. Truly unsatisfied with the whole thing

The customer service representative was fine and courteous when I called to report a health problem that I was having. She took my information and provided me with a claim reference number. I was told that someone from AXA would email me the claim forms when their office opened again but I don't think that I ever received anything, unless it went into my Spam older and accidentally deleted the message.

The claim was easy to submit online and the payment to settle my claim was paid quickly after the claim was submitted.
I was bitten by a neighborhood dog. Called for assistance,wanted to know about rabies shots. All they told me was I could start a claim.
Need to file a claim as the policy holder was required for urgent medical care. Notified AXA on this situation with a follow up to submit the claim.
