Jordan Travel Insurance Requirements
Jordan requires that all visitors have a valid health insurance policy for the duration of their time in the country. In addition, U.S citizens traveling to Jordan are required to register on the country’s e-platform, Gateway2Jordan, prior to arrival. Doing so will provide travelers with a QR code that will be needed to enter the country.
Squaremouth’s Jordan Travel Insurance Recommendations
All foreign travelers heading to Jordan are recommended to buy a travel insurance policy with the Emergency Medical and Medical Evacuation benefits; however, it is now required. These benefits are included within all but one policy on Squaremouth.com, and most policies with these benefits cover Covid-19.
Although Jordan’s government has not specified a required coverage amount, Squaremouth still recommends travelers buy a policy with at least $50,000 in Emergency Medical coverage. This benefit can cover the treatment of COVID-19, as well as other illnesses or injuries, and can reimburse expenses such as hospital fees and physician services.
In addition to this, travelers should also look for a policy with at least $100,000 in Medical Evacuation coverage. This is separate from Emergency Medical. The Medical Evacuation benefit can cover the cost of an evacuation to the nearest hospital in the event of an emergency.
In this event, a traveler is concerned about getting sick and needing to cancel before they depart, we recommend a comprehensive policy with Trip Cancellation coverage. This benefit can reimburse 100% of a traveler’s prepaid and non-refundable trip cost if they need to cancel for a covered reason, such as contracting Covid-19 or another illness. Comprehensive policies have other coverage as well, including benefits for travel delays and luggage.
