The following exclusion applies to the Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverages:

We will not pay for loss or expense caused by or incurred resulting from a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Definitions section, including death that results there from.

This Exclusion does not apply provided you meet the following requirements:

a. coverage is purchased prior to or within 14 days of your initial deposit; and

b. you are medically able to travel at the time the coverage is purchased; and

c. you insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions.

PRE-EXISTING CONDITION means a Sickness or Injury during the 180-day period immediately prior to your effective date for which you or your Traveling Companion:

(1) received, or received a recommendation for, a diagnostic test, examination, or medical treatment; or

(2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. c) You are not disabled from travel at the time Your premium is paid; and

d) The booking for the Trip is the Insured’s first and only booking for this travel period and destination.

PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION EXCLUSION:

The Company will not pay for any loss or expense incurred as the result of an Injury, Sickness or other condition (excluding any condition from which death ensues) of an Insured, Traveling Companion, Business Partner or Family Member which, within the 180 day period immediately preceding and including the Insured’s coverage effective date: a) first manifested itself, worsened, became acute or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; b) for which care or treatment was given or recommended by a Physician; c) required taking prescription drugs or medicines, unless the condition for which the drugs or medicines are taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription drugs or medicines.

PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION EXCLUSION WAIVER

The Company will waive the pre‐existing medical condition exclusion up to a maximum of the first $30,000 of Trip Cost if the following conditions are met:

(1) This plan is purchased within 15 days of Initial Trip Payment;

(2) The amount of coverage purchased equals all prepaid nonrefundable payments or deposits applicable to the Trip at the time of purchase and the costs of any subsequent arrangements added to the same Trip are insured within 15 days of the date of payment or deposit for any subsequent Trip arrangements;

(3) All Insureds are medically able to travel when this plan cost is paid;

(4) The Trip Cost does not exceed $100,000, per person (only applicable to Trip Cancellation/Interruption/ Delay);

This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid under this Pre‐ existing Medical Condition Exclusion Waiver coverage if the full costs of all prepaid, non‐refundable Trip arrangements are not insured.

Loss caused by or resulting from:

This benefit does not apply to Plan Participants age 70 or older. Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition(s) shall mean a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition(s) which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent care. The Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition(s) must occur after the effective date of the policy. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence. A Pre-existing Condition that is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered Acute Onset. WAIVER OF PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS

If You are a United States citizen and the United States is your Home Country, the Pre-existing Condition definition (under Part III – Definitions) is waived for the first $20,000 in eligible medical expenses incurred outside the United States and Canada (for persons age 65 and over the amount is $2,500). PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Pre-existing Condition means any

1. Charges for a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition(s) which:

a. Occurs when you are under age 80; and

b. Occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of physician recommendations or symptoms; and

“Pre-Existing Condition” means Any Injury, Illness, Sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, Mental or Nervous Disorder, condition or ailment that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of Application or at any time during the 36 months prior to the Effective Date of this insurance, whether or not previously manifested, symptomatic or known, diagnosed, Treated, or disclosed to the Company prior to the Effective Date, and including any and all subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or resulting or arising therefrom. The following exclusions apply to Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Airline Ticket Change Fee, Missed Connection, Trip Delay, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Emergency Accident and Emergency Sickness Medical Expense, Emergency Medical Evacuation and Medically Necessary Repatriation and Repatriation of Remains.

We will not pay for loss caused by or resulting from:

1. Pre-Existing Conditions, unless: a) the Policy is purchased within 14 days of Your initial trip deposit; b) the booking for the Covered Trip must be the first and only booking for this travel period and destination; and c) You are not disabled in a way that prevents you from traveling at the time You pay the premium;

“Pre-Existing Condition” means any Accidental Injury, sickness or condition of You, Your Traveling Companion or Your Family Member booked to travel with You for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received within the 60 day period ending on the Effective Date. Sicknesses or conditions are not considered pre-existing if the sickness or condition for which prescribed drugs or medicine is taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription throughout the entire 60 day period ending on the Effective Date and no medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment has otherwise been received.

Pre-Existing Conditions, unless the Policy includes the benefit for Trip Cancellation For Any Reason and: a) the Policy is purchased within 14 days of Your initial trip deposit; b) the booking for the Covered Trip must be the first and only booking for this travel period and destination; and c) You are not disabled in a way that prevents you from travelling at the time You pay the premium;
