The amount of information was a little overwhelming but when I called to clarify, the person on the phone was very helpful.

We did not go on the trip. There was a medical issue that prevented travel. We have filed a claim for trip reimbursement. There was quite a bit of paperwork involved, but we got through it all. We are now waiting to hear from Travel Insured International.

Bottom line, I give Travel Insured 4 stars because they did pay out on my claims.

Bought 2 policies from Travel Insured for my niece's and my trip to Africa. She had a different return date hence 2 policies. She became quite ill and we had to get medical care, spend an extra night at one of the lodges on our itinerary, miss the corresponding planned safari camp stay on our itinerary, and miss a visit to the one of the national parks for which all park entry fees had been pre-paid.

Travel Insured (TI) required a lot of documentation (itineraries, flight schedules, proof of payment for the trip) and I had to complete numerous forms. After submitting everything TI required, I had to call numerous times to check on the claim status. Finally got to speak with the actual claims analyst and get the claim resolved.

It's all in the small print and those of us who travel infrequently get taken. One of our flights had 3 legs. When the middle leg was cancelled, the insurance did not cover the cancellation of the other two legs. This change threatened to disrupt an entire part of our trip, and I was not able to get help to get the flights cancelled so I could re-book. After over 8 hours on the phone, I did,get a refund and re-booked on a much more expensive flight. It was a bad experience, but it turned out ok, except for,the extra expense. When I bought the insurance I believed flight cancellations were part of the deal, but apparently this situation did not apply.

For the cost of the insurance, which I am sure many people never put in claims for, it would be a great assistance to have knowledgeable professionals work for the refund. You have way more clout that I do, and would most likely have known to ask for the US office immediately. After over 5 hours talking to very pleasant people, from the Phillipines, who could do nothing, I learned of the US office. It then took another 2+ hours to get the right person, have him investigate, and get the refund for me....

Never had to purchase travel insurance before. Price seemed very reasonable for the coverage. Shopped other websites and went with your company because of price, coverage, and experience and years in the industry. So glad that we did not have to use it.

I had considered filing a claim because I was delayed 24 hrs in Houston and incurred extra meal costs... However the length of the claim was not worth the effort. Thanks anyway-,u am pleased I had the insurance.

I had a few questions prior to my trip, one adjustment to the dates involve, and each time I called, I was greeted with efficient and friendly personnel
Thank you very much for your good service.

They want receipts for each item lost, which to some degree I believe is fair. But I bought a very expensive hat from REI for $45 six months ago and lost it during our trip to Japan. I didn't think to keep the receipt because I'm not a frequent traveler and it doesn't cross my mind to take such precautions. I think a picture should be enough proof.
