    Before Trip
    Prior to this short trip we had purchased another policy for our trip to France in Oct.'12. We were misinformed by the rep we spoke to & it turned out to be more costly than we were led to believe. Obviously we are not happy by that exchange.

    We had no need to use these services.

    We were compelled to cancel the trip

    Claim Process
    Submitted a claim under "cancel for any reason" coverage and insuror asked for irrelevant information and information about reasons for cancellation, which are burdensome. We are in process of responding.

    We did have a slight adjustment to the original coverage amount submitted and the amended policy was handled promptly with the new quote.

    During Trip
    We didn't have to use the service afforded to us, but it is nice to have the information before hand.

    The service is awesome and when we submited a claim it was very easy and got the check very fast. I had no issues at all, I would definately take again for my future travels

    I had to cancel my trip due to serious illness of my host. It was not covered since she was not hospitalized. The illness would have been covered if it had been mine. The purpose of the trip was to visit my friend. Very disappointing. YOU DO NOT ALLOW N/A IN YOUR RESPONSES

    They were perfectly polite in explaining why this request was not covered, but there was no accommodation at all for a trip that had to be cancelled for events outside my control.

    We did not have any contact with the insurance carrier during the trip.

    Claim Process
    The insurance carrier was OK in providing the forms etc. for making the claim. The problems came in there honoring of it. First of all, we did not hear from them for about 5 weeks after making the claim (I called to find out the status after 3 1/2 weeks) and then it was an outright rejection. The claim was for extra travel costs that we had to incur due to flooding in Thailand. The insurance carrier claimed that this was not an "unforseen event" since there had been heavy rains in Thailand since July (our travel was in November, policy was bought in August). We thought this was ridiculous - spent a lot of time writing another letter laying out the facts again with the documentation with cc's to higher folks in the company. That brought results and the check in late March. There was no reason this claim shouldn't have been immediately honored the first time. I expect some people would have just accepted the fact that their claims was not going to be reimbursed and let it drop. It pays to be persistent, but I will never do business with Traveler Insured Intl again (and I travel A LOT and buy insurance every time)!
