The 24 hour assistance was especially helpful when my wife got food poisoning on our trip. Would definitely recommend.

It took months to settle the claim. It was a long and annoying process with having to follow up every week. They even said sorry. I had to escalate issue to corporate office to get it done.

I needed to insure an expensive Mediterranean cruise for 6 persons, including non-refundable airfare from California to Europe. TravelSafe offered among the best coverages for missed connections & trip cancellation/disruption, which were my main concerns. And the cost was moderately low. 5 stars so far. Although the cruise went mostly as planned, my travel wallet was stolen in the Rome subway. Upon return home, I submitted a claim for $250 total to cover lost currency (85 euros) and the cost to obtain an emergency passport from the US embassy ($135). 7 weeks (!) later, I received a check from TravelSafe for $50, with explanation that lost currency is not covered, and passport replacement is capped at $50. I can understand not covering currency - no way to prove the loss, but the cost of replacing a US passport is well known and easily documented. Capping coverage at $50 for something that always costs $135 seems unreasonable. 3 stars for the skimpy coverage and slow processing.

A follow up confirmation a few days before departure or even a few days after the buy would be nice--I don't remember exactly what we got when, but do remember that I was wondering it everything went through OK. Also, it seems there is discussion about receiving paper policy in mail, but really there is none.

First time using TravelSafe and will be the last time.
As in previous travel, went to increase coverage to accommodate additional non-refundable costs. Looked on TravelSafe's web site to call up policy to increase coverage, like I've done with other travel insurers, only to find that I had to call. Couldn't do it on line. A bored, unprofessional person told me I had to fax or email my request then wait for it to be reviewed.
Has me concerned about how any claim would be processed.

TravelSafe could not find my policy with the number that I was given by them. During the trip, they offered no solution to our problem. They told me that they would charge $75 to book another flight when it did not depart. Then, after 10 minutes on hold, they stated that all flights were booked. When I called back, I was asked for the policy number, they stated that it starts with a " T". That was not on the policy. The man stated that he could not access the policy without it as it was "after business hours". Mind you, this was their 24 hr emergency line. I called back again and a different representative was able to access the policy and gave me the policy number starting with T.

The coverage seems comprehensive and the on phone representative seemed to be helpful. The claimform seems very hard to understand. why7 do I need to proove I bought the policy by submitting a credit card statement?I had email confirmation.Taxi receipts? proof that a flight was cancelled is difficult. If my claim is finially awarded than it will all be worth the trouble. You I would recommend betting insurance.
