I had never heard of your insurance but it came highly recommended from my travel agent. I felt very reassured with this insurance on my trip. Thank you for the outstanding policy and service. I would highly recommend this policy to other travelers.

I had an Emergency Medical Evacuation from the cruise ship we were on. We were taken off the ship at Dover, England and taken to a hospital in Ashford, England where I stayed for 3 days. We contacted the Emergency Assistance For Trawick International. First, we needed a hotel for my wife to stay while I was in the hospital. No help from their assistance. Then when I was close to being discharged, we needed major help trying to get to London (about 60 miles away).
We reminded the assistance person that I was handicapped and that we had 4 suitcases (2 large & 2 carry-ons) so we needed plenty of help. During many of our phone calls to the assistance person, we were promised a return call, but that never happened. We had to initiate every call and had to go through their long process to get a real person, who was always someone new. On the day of discharge, they needed a report from the hospital which they sent. Then there was one place where the hospital didn't fill in a "discharge date", despite this date was stated in another place on the form. Meanwhile, we are desperate to get directions on where to go when leaving the hospital. It was obvious we had to go somewhere, and that obviously was somewhere near the Heathrow Airport.
The assistance kept saying their "medical review group" had to review the discharge report! I pleaded we needed help to get to London, and at one point she said to contact the hospital and maybe they could get us a taxi. WOW!! 60 miles away which would cost several hundred pounds!! So without any help, so ever, we talked to a kind gentleman and he suggested a train to St Pancreas which would get us close to London and Heathrow. Remember, at this point, we had absolutely NO guidance on our departure flight. We also needed some guidance/help on where to stay near the airport. So, having nothing else, we called the Travel Lodge Inter. where Carol stayed near the hospital. Now we are at the train station at St Pancreas and again called for help to get to the hotel. Nothing! Now we needed a flight home and we were told of a Delta flight the next day. We said great. She said she had to confirm and would call us right back. No phone call. We called back and she didn't get that flight. After many calls, we got a confirmation, with booking numbers, for a Delta flight on 7/30. Got to the airport, and when checking in at the Delta desk, found out there were NO tickets!!!!! HOW IN THE **** COULD THAT HAPPENED??? Much confusion, and with very poor help from the Assistance office, we were then rebooked on a United "red eye" Lost a luggage back in London and the only thing the assistance did is pre-pay for a room in New York while waiting for a flight back home (TYS). A real nightmare of abos\ustly no help!!!

My policy with Trawick International included $50,000 for Emergency Evacuation. I became seriously sick (internal bleeding) while aboard the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship. My blood count fell to such serious level that the ship's Doctor ordered an emergency evacuation to the nearest hospital. At the East Kent Hospitals University, I was given two blood transfusions and treatments.
Square Mouth's definition of Emergency Merical states "Provides coverage for the cost of treatment from a hospital or a doctor" And Square Mouth's definition of Medical Evacuation states "provides coverage if you are transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment." And Trawick's policy states under Emergency Evacuation, "Covered expenses are reasonable and customary for necessary Transportation, RELATED MEDICAL SERVICES AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES incurred in connection with your Emergency Evacuation". The medical services I received were the hospital services provider by "East Kent Hospitals University" AND the Emergency Medical treatments while aboard the Celebrity Eclipse. Also, Trawick's Emergency Evacuation states "to the nearest Hospital where appropriate MEDICAL TREATMENT CAN BE OBTAINED". And which again, was provided by East Kent Hospitals University.
I just received the claims determination from Nationwide TravClaims that states that somehow came to the astounding conclusion that the Medical Expenses, and related expenses, are NOT ELIGIBLE!!!! Totally UNBELIEVABLE!!

I request that Square Mouth investigate this outrages determination.

We had to pay $2800 for the overnight hospital visit and the 2 procedures performed. Case reference 247670 Policy #604358770 and do not see where GBG covered any of our medical expenses.

I only emailed a question about my coverage, and it took a couple of weeks to get a response. I suppose a phone call would have been faster. The answer wasn't comprehensive, but it did answer my question.

Purchasing the policy was easy and took very little time. This was the second time I used them.

Claim was handled with only a slight delay from what was indicated (30 days, but actually received information in about 38 days). I received an email from them with all of their decisions, payment information, etc. It was set so that I could not print, copy, or upload this information! This made it difficult to compare what they were saying against what we had submitted. We needed to see their document on a piece of paper.

The only item they did not pay for on our claim was 2 meals that we had to purchase because of being delayed and not flying out on our original flight. We had to stay an additional 2 days before catching the next flight back to the US from Indonesia. They paid our hotel bill and transportation to the airport. Why not cover the two meals - very inexpensive, too! Just seemed picky to us.

Your girl looked up our policy and it did not cover a Dr. call and medication for my friend
The bill was $251.00.which she said was not covered. No I guess we will not be sending in a claim because it is not covered. We did not realize when it said preexisting conditions were covered that anything immediate was not covered.

I was a little disappointed because Trawick said they covered pre-existing conditions. However, they don’t tell you that you need to be fit for travel on the day you take out their policy. Luckily I was, and was traveling on the date in question. Make sure you read the pre-existing clauses of any policy. Also, my trip was cancelled back in June, and I have still not received payment. I did need a Fit for Travel form to be completed by my doctor which it was, but still waiting for my check.
