I purchased the travel insurance to cover a short vacation stay at a high-end at a "luxury" inn in the United States that required full pre-payment of the lodging cost...a few thousand dollars. Deposit was made on January 24, 2026, for a trip to be taken in late April. I purchased the World Trips insurance a short time later. On March 12th I learned from the Inn that they had had experienced a severe fire; our reservation was cancelled and a full refund of the deposit issued. I contacted World Trips in hopes of having some kind of refund from the amount I paid for the insurance which was a few hundred dollars. My first call was to a customer service number provided online by World Trips. That representative was easy to reach, very professional and seemed knowledgeable but I learned from the Rep that I needed to send an email to a different customer service department making sure that they understood that I would not be filing any claim through this policy, and request that the policy be extended. I was hoping for an additional 2 -3 months to the term as a different trip would be planned. I followed the instructions and sent the email. I never received a response. I tried to contact that department by phone, and no one answered the calls. I gave up and cannot recommend this company for travel insurance.

I have found the quality of service helping me select a travel insurance policy varies from good to excellent. This past time was good. Had to inquire as to attributes of policy rather than just be told them.

My trip was cancelled . I tried to receive my money back so I files a claim. The claim was denied because the reason for the cancellation had to do with a war conflict. Apparently this was written in the small letters. Then, I asked for a refund of the policy I didn’t use. This was denied too, because, they say, I already used it by completing a claim.
Everything was about one month prior to the trip.
I feel disappointed and upset.

I travel to Jaco, Costa Rica, for 5 months plus every year. I was in an accident and transported to the MMI clinic in Jaco. After repairing injuries, testing, and observation, I was transported to CIMA hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica, for treatment. Unfortunately, my health insurance card was still at my home in Jaco. To be admitted, they asked for a credit card to proceed. Once my health insurance card arrived, all information and billing have been sent to Squaremouth Insurance. They are working hard to reimburse me.

Filed a claim on March 11 due to my husband being hospitalized with sepsis. Trip was to start 3/27, and MD said NO travel.
Sent all requested documents to World Trips through the portal. Got 2 more requests for information that had not been on the list, and for some that i already sent! Called them 4/9, almost one month after filing claim, and was told it is still under review. This process seems disorganized and extremely slow.

We did not have any problems that needed to be addressed, ie no claims. When I called while trying to decide on correct coverage for our party and for some answers to questions, it was easy to get a live person and she was helpful.

Our trip was cancelled so there was no need for the insurance, but I could not get a refund or partial refund for not using the insurance at all. I was told I was out of the refund period which was a week or two after I purchase the insurance which was at least 4-6 months before the trip was to take place. My claim should be for the refunding of my policy.

For Atlas Journey coverage, a full refund of the premium is available during a 15-day review period from the date of purchase, provided the trip has not started and no claim has been filed. After this period, the coverage remains active and the premium is non-refundable, as outlined in the terms and conditions.
This type of coverage is designed to reimburse nonrefundable trip costs if a cancellation occurs for a covered reason. If your trip was canceled, you may still be eligible to submit a claim for reimbursement of those prepaid, nonrefundable expenses.

I'm at a limbo. They are stating that they will review my claim and will get back with me. However, they have not provided me with a timeline. They are quick to respond to my inquiry but with a very vague non-committal answer. It's been two weeks since I filed a claim but have not heard back as to when the claim will be reviewed and when I will get an answer.
