    I didn't feel that the person in customer service gave me clear and concise answers about what my claim included. I have filed a claim and am being told that it could take up to a month to process. I feel that is an unreasonably long amount of time to process a claim.

    I had needed to add an additional day to our coverage since American changed our flight schedule, and we were getting back to the east coast too late to drive home. Darlene in Customer Service was very helpful.

    Just got back to the US from the extension to our vacation that was not covered. Now that I am back home I hope to put the claim together within the next week or so. Minor claim due to delayed baggage.

    I didn't really interact with RoamRight, but with On Call International, the company that handles the return details. We had problems connecting by telephone so almost all contact was by email. My husband was hit by a motorbike and has been in the hospital in Florence Italy for 25 days now, flat on his back. The hospital doctors have finally decided he's able to travel, so we will be going home this week. I received no assistance from the company with my living arrangements nor translation services nor interfacing with the hospital. I have had daily contact with On Call and am now awaiting their arrangements for our return.

When trying to contact the 24/7 Emergency Travel Assistance line while overseas, travelers must use the international number – 1-603-328-1382. We also suggest our RoamRight mobile app that has the ability to dial On-Call International with one press of a button, and can even help with translation when speaking to foreign doctors.

    I didn't initially notice that this was a secondary insurance policy. I was assured that even though Medicare doesn't provide coverage outside the U.S.A, that after coverage was denied RoamRight coverage would still kick in and cover any claims. Since I don't have any claims I have no way of confirming this. I know my medicare supplemental insurance will not cover anything not first covered by Medicare. If in fact, your insurance would cover outside the U.S. in spite of medicare - it would be very helpful to make it clear in your ads, website, etc. - and would undoubtedly greatly increase your sales. The coverage and price would certainly be a great value.

    My husband was injured and we were unable to make the trip. I am not real computer savvy so I called Roam Right, hoping to have someone explain the process to me and answer some questions. The first phone call, I got a female, there was a lot of background noise as if there was a party. The person basically blew me off and told me to go to the website. So I did, and eventually I got thru it and figured it out. But it made it much more stressful and I was already stressed from my husbands injury and the impact on our lives. I mailed my packet and got a receipt it was delivered but heard nothing. So I called again. Very nice person said they had received packet and had sent us email. I never got it and it was not in my junk mail. She sent it again. I did not get it. A couple weeks later I called again and was told checks were in the mail. That was true. All is well. But............ the poor communication or almost complete lack of communication caused a lot of concern on my part.
    Was it simple, yes. Could it have been less stressful, yes.
    I would use them again but I am sure they have lost business over their poor communication.

    We are very proud to have our customer service representatives and our claims department all in house. Any additional noise heard in the background is simply our customer service and claims teams assisting other customers.

    While we do promote our online claim filing capabilities, we also understand that some feel more comfortable filing claims through the mail. Thus, as explained during your conversation with one of our claims team members, we do allow customers to send in claim forms through the mail or via fax.

    Additionally, we believe communication to be the key to a positive claims experience. RoamRight sends emails to claimants each time their claim has completed a part of the claims review process. With some email providers, these messages may end up in a spam or junk folder, causing the claimant to miss the messages. We understand this can be a frustrating experience and we try to alert claimants to this whenever possible.
