The two features we really needed were coverage for pre-existing medical conditions and a high coverage amount for evacuation, and Tin Leg offered these. I felt Tin Leg offered a reasonable price for the coverage, compared with other companies. We did not have to make any kind of claim, but I felt good knowing it was there if we needed it.

Tin Leg was very fast at providing the new, lower cost for the insurance policy, but initially said I could use it only as an advance on a future Tin Leg policy. I requested a refund on the grounds that my husband and I, 80 and 73, might not be taking another cruise that qualified, and it was the cruise line, not our whim, that caused the shorter cruise. Happily, they soon reversed their position and gave us a refund.

Prompt, clear and straightforward dealings by phone and email. 1portion of claim resolved readily and reasonably. However, I was advised to file a second portion, went two rounds of providing back up at underwriters prompting, only to be told in the end that portion of claim isn’t covered. Don’t know if I’m more troubled by being led down a path or by the claim being categorically rejected. Both sides could have been spared the work!
