    I had a couple of questions predeparture. They provided satisfactory answers to all my questions. Since I didn't make a claim, I can't really rate them. However, I intent to give them another try in the future.

    Travelex is completely non-responsive. They did not answer any of my emails. Their website is broken - clearly looks like it is missing important CSS. Generally this all makes very unprofessional impression and I am becoming concerned if my claim will ever get processed.

    Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (“BHSIC”) is the underwriter and claim administrator for the policy you purchased. Travelex Insurance does not make claim determinations.

    We have contacted BHSIC on your behalf and have been advised your claim was initiated on August 12, 2024, with documentation provided on 8/17/24. Today is the 14th business day since submission. Claims are reviewed in order in which they are received, and within 15 business days.

    It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and all claims are determined based on the required documentation submitted and the policy details for the policy you purchased.

    Purchase was easy. Appreciated the reviews - that said, the claim process so far has been really drawn out and customer service with Travelex has not been great. They told me 15 business days to review, and after 20 finally emailed to say they needed a bunch more documents - that was a week ago and since responding the same day, I have heard nothing.

    They told me it would be 15 business days, but it was over 30 before the claim was resolved. Otherwise, it was fairly strait forward to process the claim. Everything was done online and via email, which could be slow at times.

    We have contacted BHSIC on your behalf and they have advised that three of the documents submitted were in a format that are not supported. They reached out to you on both August 12th and August 22nd regarding this matter. Since those emails were sent the claim documents were received in a supported format and the claim was paid on September 4, 2024.

    I interacted with Travelex customer service both over the phone and through email. They were friendly, responded quickly, and were able to specifically answer all of my questions. My claim was approved within 15 business days of providing the information they asked for. I have already purchased a policy from them for my upcoming trip.

    Extremely slow customer service. We filed two claims although there was no clear instruction on how to send it other than e-mail to customer service. We believe we got clearance for the first claim to be reimbursed, but we have not heard anything since for over 2 weeks. Our second claim was submitted, but we received no confirmation of receipt or anything to confirm they're reviewing it. I would not use TravelEx again, nor would I recommend them to others.

    I called customer service prior to purchasing the policy because I had very specific needs - coverage for adventure travel / hiking to high elevation, and one person being over age 69 - and I wanted to make sure the policy would include both of these. The representative I spoke to was able to confirm, without delay, that the policy would provide the necessary coverage.

    I was unable to take my trip due to not receiving my VISA in time. I had 'cancel for any reason' coverage and 4 days before departure I contacted Travelex to let them know I wouldn't be going. I filled out an online form that was pretty easy (except the automatic deposit into my bank account option did not work regardless of what bank I tried to use). They immediately sent an email outlining the information they required and stating that it could take up to 15 days to process the claim. After 15 days, I still had not heard anything so I phoned them. The representative that answered was very defensive and said it takes 15 BUSINESS days to respond and would I just be patient? Today is 15 BUSINESS days and I still have not heard anything about my claim.

    I was a little leery of spending the extra dollars to purchase this CFAR travel insurance, but didn't have my VISA in hand yet for travel to China. I went with Travelex because they had the best reviews on claims paid and I spoke to a representative prior to purchase which showed me I could get ahold of them if I needed to place a claim. In the end, I couldn't get my VISA in time to travel and had to cancel the trip. The insurance told me it would be 15 days processing and the website for payout wouldn't let me set up direct deposit, which concerned me a little. So on day 15 after not hearing from anyone, I called. I was then told to wait 15 BUSINESS days before contacting them. At day 15 business day, after not hearing from them in the morning, Squaremouth asked me for a review. I only gave 3 stars. However, I take that review back, because by the end of that day I had a payout letter! I would Definitely recommend Travelex! Just do it!
