    I needed to remove a person from the insurance and replace with another the only way they could do that is to cancel the policy and do a new one. They have their money already I didnot have the time to wait for a refund and rebook again. I went without it so they lost out luckily nothing happened on the trip.

    Called because my flight was delayed 3 hours and was told that the insurance I have won’t cover anything because I have a stopover. I missed my flight and it ruined my trip.... don’t use this company

    Thank you for reaching out to TravelSafe regarding your concerns. I am sorry for the confusion and frustration, and would like the opportunity to see if there is anything we can do to clear this up. It looks like there is not a claim filed for your policy number. Did you file a claim? Depending on why the flight was delayed, there may be options available to you. Additionally, we do have a satisfaction guarantee with our policy. It is outlined on all of our plan documents that you have 14 days to decide if the coverage works for you. It is designed to reimburse customers prior to travel when they are not happy with the coverage, so long as they have not filed a claim or received a fee for cancelling their trip.

    While we cannot guarantee the outcome of a claim, we would like to help resolve this issue. We’ve provided some information below based off of the information you’ve given us.     Trip Interruption and Missed Connection: Coverage begins when You depart on Your first scheduled Travel Arrangement (or if You must use an alternate travel arrangement after Your Scheduled Departure Date to reach Your Trip destination, on the Scheduled Departure Date) for Your Trip. This is Your “Effective Date” and time for Trip Interruption and Missed Connection.

    MISSED CONNECTION If You miss Your Trip departure because Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for 3 or more hours, due to:
    a. any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
    b. documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure;
    c. quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.
    We will reimburse You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Confirmation of Benefits, for:
    a. Your Additional Transportation Cost to join Your Trip; and
    b. Your Prepaid expenses for the unused land or water Travel Arrangements.
    These benefits will not duplicate any other benefits payable under the Policy or any coverage(s) attached to the Policy

    Claim Procedures: Notice of Claim: Notice of claim must be reported within 20 days after a loss occurs or as soon as is reasonably possible. You or someone on Your behalf may give the notice.     I originally purchased the policy for a three-person trip to Puerto Rico but had to cancel because of the hurricane-devastation. My traveling companions decided on another destination and I went someplace else. Trying to understand what I could and could not do to change the Travel Safe policy was confusing and the customer service section only made it more so.
    First was I given the wrong email to ask for a change; then after not hearing from the company for two weeks I called back and was given another email. When I sent a message to that email, the response I got from Stephanie Smith was vague about whether or not a change was made but that a response to the original email had been sent to me along with an attached document - but I did not receive an email or an updated policy. Her email also said that the same document was attached - it wasn't.
    When I called Stephanie's number to talk to her personally about clarifying whether or not a change could be made someone else answered her phone. I explained the situation to her and asked if there was something that could be done to change the policy and whether it could be split so that the two destinations would have coverage. I don't remember her name but do I remember how unhelpful she was. I asked for follow up on my questions but never heard back from her.
    I got tired of dealing with Travel Safe and gave up.

    1. Regarding your policy: due to the negative experience you’ve had with TravelSafe, we refunded your policy in full. No traveler should have this experience when needing additional policy information, and we hope this will help rectify some of the frustrations you felt.

    2. Regarding questions to changes: Due to the nature of the product, making changes to insurance policies can be confusing. However, your feedback makes a great point – we should look into ways of delivering the information so that it is a little easier for travelers to understand. We will put our heads together and think of how this confusion could have been avoided so we avoid a repeat of this experience.

    I am extremely pleased.
    The only thing that I would suggest is that the claims department keep the claimant informed as to the progress of the claim.

    As I have Medicare and my husband does not, I 'chatted' with a helpful customer service person who was able to guide me to the plan that worked for us. While we never needed to use it, the tour leader explained why it was important to have a plan in place, as one of the tour participants suffered a minor stroke on the trip and spent several days in hospital.

    Really disappointed with TravelSafe customer support. None of the contact numbers were reachable when I or another person tried to call. Emailed for extension and finally was told by SquareMouth Customer Service agent how to contact TravelSafe by email. Eventually found out that it was impossible for me to extend my policy as I held over working by a week. Eventually bought extended policy from another company for a week. Should have disclosed that prior to buying policy or was "buried in legal type somewhere." Obviously I like SquareMouth as a collective service but will not buy any travel coverage from TravelSafe for the above reasons.
