Our son was sick and we needed to call the nurse hotline. She was extremely helpful and resassuring.
We actually had multiple claims, one for delayed luggage (three people) and one for an illness (my son suffered sunstroke). Filing the claims online was extremely easy and phone support was very helpful as we were having trouble with the airline getting the proper documentation. The website claim status feature was especially useful so we always new the progress of our claims. We would highly recommend TravelSafe and have already purchased another TravelSafe policy for our next vacation. Hopefully we won't have to file any claims this time!
Good coverage; bad claim experience. The policy provides good coverage and Travelsafe customer service is helpful. The issue is with Tripmate, the claim processor. They are the most unhelpful company that i think i have ever encountered. Deliberately delays payment on simple claims and make the process unnecessarily difficult.

Coverage looked great and provided the benefits that I needed (on paper) but this has been a terrible claim experience. TravelSafe and their contracted claim processor, TripMate have deliberately delayed payment of the claim. Even a simple claim under the cancel for any reason coverage has been a nightmare. 8 weeks and counting, still no payment or progress on receiving the benefits that I am entitled to under the claim. Tripmate customer service is unresponsive and unhelpful. They make companies like USPS and Comcast look excellent. TravelSafe customer service has been slightly better, but the claim processing is all handled by Tripmate and that thats where the problem lies.
I have opened a complaint with Squaremouth, but I do intend to take my case to the BBB and my state's insurance regulator. Do yourself a favor and avoid this policy and any policies that use tripmate as the claim processor.
When inquiring about additional car rental insurance I made 3 phone calls to carrier with little or no help. I finally called Square Mouth and all was taken care of.
We didn't really interact with the insurance company until after the trip. The claim was not really easy to file - forms were somewhat complicated, but we did receive reimbursement for our travel delay related hotel cost.
I provided detailed information, and felt the claim was valid. Travelsafe paid the claim in full, more quickly than I expected. I would use Travelsafe again for travel insurance.
I bought Travelsafe insurance through Squaremouth.com. My luggage was broken by a hotel assistant when it was stored in a holding room. The hotel's manager refused to write an accident report. When I applied (July 2014) for damage claim (less than $100), a Travelsafe representative asked me for tons of different papers: credit card statement, my explanation, not Reparable Statement and so on. After I sent them all of these including not Reparable Statement for which I had to pay a repair store $15 plus tax. Travelsafe sent me letter in December (2014) saying they needed statement from the hotel. If a hotel personal refused to do it in July, they probably won't even remember me in December. I still did not receive any money from the Travelsafe. I will not recommend this company at all because they refused to pay a small claim and asked for a ton of papers. I can only imagine how they handle big claims.
This company was very easy to deal with and made the whole claim submission easy. They processed the claim quickly and we have no complaints at all. We just wish we did not have a travel delay -- that is not their problem.
Had to cancel my trip due to personal family issue. Was not able to get a refund. So they kept my money even though I did not make the trip.
Did not make the trip and they would not refund my premium. No Trp, No Coverage, No refunds!
No trip., No Coverage, No Refund!
I submitted the claim more than a month ago (before the trip would have been) and it is still not done.
I was sent one form that did not clearly say where to return it,
I purchased the higher plus policy only to find out that a claim for a parents parent/step parents death can only be made if they die in the usa, canada or Mexico! Anywhere else and your out of luck with this policy type /provider. Be sure they die in a qualified country ! Very disappointed as I had chosen this policy specifically for the cancel for any reason option.
