I had to change my departure and return dates and contacted TravelSafe to modify my policy. Even though it was weeks before the departure date, TravelSafe refused to change the coverage or refund the premium. They simply confiscated my money for nothing.
We were forced to cancel our trip and never went. I called and requested a refund on my premium payment of $120. I'm not sure if I qualify for this or not but the girl I talked to on the phone said she'd find out and call me back but never did. Please contact me so we can talk more about this. Thanks.
I was completely unsatisfied with the outcome. First off all I heard nothing from them the entire time between filing the claim and receiving a check in the mail. I even called them because it was over their time frame. They were supposed to call me back in 48-72 hours but 4 days later I had to call them again to find out what was going on.
In the end they didn't give me the amount I believe I should have gotten. I contend they owe me another $250 but they refused. I even appealed the decision and was turned down.
I would never ever use them again.
We didn't really interact with the insurance company until after the trip. The claim was not really easy to file - forms were somewhat complicated, but we did receive reimbursement for our travel delay related hotel cost.
I provided detailed information, and felt the claim was valid. Travelsafe paid the claim in full, more quickly than I expected. I would use Travelsafe again for travel insurance.
Did not take the trip!
Totally disappointed - received nothing back. The Certificate indicates "YOU" cancel; however, despite the fact that "I" DID NOT CANCEL the trip, refund was refused.
I have deliberately waited until my claim was finalized before submitting this review.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip a day before scheduled departure because of injury. I promptly submitted the claim and substantiating medical information to Travel Safe. While I wish processing could have been quicker, I do understand that thorough review takes time. On the few occasions that I called to make inquiry or obtain further information, I always received courteous assistance.
My claim was honored with two payments (one land portion; the other flight arrangement). I was happy to have had trip insurance and would use Travel Safe again. So yes, I can recommend both Squaremouth and Travel Safe.
I did not need to use the insurance during the trip. My flight was cancelled due to a snowstorm at the destination. When I returned home I put in a claim because I was delayed at an interim city for a few days. Claim was handled very well.
This company was very easy to deal with and made the whole claim submission easy. They processed the claim quickly and we have no complaints at all. We just wish we did not have a travel delay -- that is not their problem.
Customer service through Travelsafe directly was rude and curt. Their website was also far less helpful than Squaremouth, with unclear directions about how to fill out the application form. I went back and applied through Squaremouth and had a much better experience. I won't have to make a claim, so I can't comment on their actual service.
