I needed to modify my policy prior to departure. It was easily done. Customer service was quite helpful in doing so without any hassle.
When I purchased the policy, I wasn't sure of our exact travel dates since we were thinking of adding a few days onto the tour we were taking. Your customer service was very helpful and they told me that the travel dates could be adjusted later when I had the correct departure/return dates.
Travel safe was difficult to reach and slow to respond.
I had a 24 hour travel delay but the airline took care of most arrangements so I didn't need to do a large claim. I did file a $40 claim for expenses today.
Absent filing a claim, it was very easy. We routinely purchase our insurance through SquareMouth as soon as we book our trip with OAT. Then we see what else we might do before the beginning and/or after the end of the tour. Once we decide on that, we need to contact the insurer directly to adjust the dates of travel. TravelSafe, as with other insurance companies we have used, was very efficient and accommodating.
It only took a month to have my claim processed and receive a check. This was a very positive experience. Will most certainly consider this company again.
Do NOT purchase from TravelSafe!!! We made our main submission of claim documents on May 16, when we received a large bill from the overseas provider. We were given no updates on the status of the claim - even on whether or not we should be paying the bill from the provider - until they told us on July 31 (while we were on vacation) to pay it and to send additional information. We sent the information on Aug 14. When we wrote again on Sep 16 they again sent us their canned response: "Your claim is currently still in process; kindly allow additional time for an update to your claim. We do appreciate your patience during this time of high volume. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance at this time. " Their rating has dropped from 1 star to zero.

It took over six months, many reminders and submitting additional documents and much waiting (and possibly the intervention of SquareMouth) before they finally paid us (most) of what they owed. (And communications were haphazard and uncoordinated.) But eventually they came through. And this claim only covered evacuation and medical expenses basically covered by a single bill. I hate to imagine what would have happened if we had needed to make a claim for travel costs.
