It is difficult to rate something you did not (fortunately) need. The process of comparing policies through Squaremouth was excellent. I was most interested in health/accident coverage should we have had an accident while abroad. Hopefully, I chose the company that would have assisted us without any hassles should the unfortunate accident have occurred. I am giving the provider five stars since it was the provider with the most accident coverage.
I didn't really have any interactions w/ anyone after purchasing the policy but it gave me great piece of mind so I could enjoy my holiday knowing that I had done everything so I could relax. Worth every cent

Having used Squaremouth before, I felt confident that any situation that we might encounter (we were in Iceland on glacier hikes) would be covered. Also, there are several policies that offer trip cancellation for ANY REASON. Although we did not purchase that policy, it is a great option for situations where unexpected events can result in a cancellation.
Site was easy to use, and allowed us to get last minute coverage. This allowed us to trust that all would work out in the event of an incident. Nothing did happen, so happily we did not need to discover the adequacy of this carrier.
I had to email to get the info resent so I could print it and the company responded very quickly and professionally. Very happy with the service response.
We decided to leave a day early and the insurer promptly made the appropriate changes to our policy and provided the necessary documentation.

It was extremely easy to review and compare insurance products and services before the trip. Purchasing the policy and receiving the documentation was also very simple; just pay the premium and you are covered!
I did not contact customer service during my trip. I paid out-of-pocket for my medical costs incurred and asked the providers for receipts and copies of services rendered and explanations in writing. In every case but the hospital used, they were happy to do this. The hospital stated they would have to mail the report to my home address.
I have not been able to actually file the claim yet because I don't have all the requested documentation. The medical coverage provided by this trip insurance is "excess to any other group, government, or blanket health or accident insurance or assistance plan," therefore I must submit my claim to my primary insurance company, receive a denial, THEN submit this denial with my claim to TraveSafe! Had I been aware of this before purchasing the travel policy, I would NOT have purchased it! Why would I purchase this policy if my primary insurance company would pay for out-of-country health expenses?? I thought this policy was supplemental to any other coverage. I was misled.
We received our policy information by email within a few hours of purchasing our policy.
We had to cancel our trip a few weeks before departure due to my husband's illness and hospitalization.
We filed our claim online and downloaded all the necessary forms. After waiting for the Attending Physician's Statement from our doctor, we mailed the claim forms on 10/2/10.
I will be giving TravelSafe all 5 stars, even though we were not able to take our cruise. My husband was laid off after we bought insurance for our trip. We able to cancel our cruise for a full refund, however, we were nine days beyond the time when we could cancel our insurance. Shelley at TravelSafe understood and was able to make an exception, and we received a refund of virtually all of our insurance premium. We will definitely use TravelSafe in the future.
