    I would like to reserve comment until after I file claim. As I understand it, everything must first be submitted to my primary health insurer. I did sign myself out of hospital earlier than physician recommended and got various answers from CSA about how that decision would affect my coverage. I did consult with physicians in the US regarding standard practice as part of my process in arriving at a decision to leave, and was told that presenting similar status in the US, I would have been discharged at the time that I decided to leave AMA. I did leave AMA to rejoin my travel group and keep to my original booked return with my travel companions.

    We felt the insurance we purchased was reasonably priced.

    We had a family medical condition that resulted in our cancelling the trip about a week before we were scheduled to leave. We contacted CSA immediately. They provided a claim package and process that was straight forward and timely. Our claim has ben settled and we are pleased with the outcome. CSA handled everything professionally.

    When my travel companion had heart problems and was advised by her physician to cancel our trip, I called CSA to confirm that my single supplement would be covered and was assured that it would be. After the trip, when I filed my claim they refused it, citing a pre-existing condition. I might have cancelled the trip had I known they would not honor their word. I am sending them a note from my travel companion's physician stating that it should not be considered pre-existing, so at this point our discussions are ongoing. But if this is the value of travel insurance, I certainly will skip it in the future.
