    Luckily nothing went wrong so I did not have to use the insu ance. It did, however, ease my mind to know that I had some recourse IF something did go wrong.

    Here's my advice: READ THE FINE PRINT OF THE INSURANCE POLICY BEFORE BUYING. CALL THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE BEFORE BUYING.

    Some Travel Insurance policies do not include mother-in-law and father-in-law as "family".

    My husband has an elderly mother. A big reason I would buy travel insurance for a trip when I am the sole traveller is for trip interruption coverage to return home should something happen to my mother-in-law. Guess what? With CSA Travel Protection, she is not counted as family so trip interruption would not apply.

    For the trip that I insured, my husband was traveling with me so trip interruption would apply if something happened with his mother.

    Did I interact with CSA Travel Protection 24 hour assistance? I tried: they did not answer the phone.

    This claim is not yet complete: I am awaiting the medical bills from the overseas providers. I was told they should arrive in January 2016.

    We missed a connection due to mechanical problems and missed out on a whole day of touring and a hotel room which had been pre-paid. I filed a claim and less than two weeks later, received a check. I appreciate the hassle-free, rapid response.
    Will use squaremouth again.

    Upon returning from my trip I filed a claim for medical that my husband had received on board the cruise ship we were traveling. I called CSA customer service and they told me the form that I needed to download. I completed the for and faxed it to their offices. Withing 24 hours I received an e-mail that my claim was being processed and that I should have my check withing 7-10 days. I was impressed and even more so when the check arrived as promised!!
