I really did enjoy the way the carrier allowed me to search and compare the different policies. That was the initial key to my satisfaction.
Fortunately, I didn't need to use any facit of my trip insurance, but I felt confident it was there if I needed it. That piece of mind helped me to enjoy my trip.
One MH Ross Rep tried to be helpful in advising me on how best to have my claim resolved. However, his information turned out to be inaccurate. He told me that he had made an error and apologized - that was at least honest. However, claim is still in process. So, until it is resolved, not sure how to comment.
The customer service numbers listed on the policy were useless. I would call the number then select "3" and it would transfer me to a number than would hang up on me after a couple of minutes. Same when choosing the option "2". Finally in exasperation I selected "1" (for purchasing a new policy) and finally got to a person who did take my information and entered it into their system for filing a claim - but could not really give me any additional guidance or answer my specific questions. Her advice was to make sure I had copies of all tickets, receipts and so forth.. The end result was an email with a link for the claims forms to be filed. I could have done this online myself.

Initially received my copy of the policy from Squaremouth but none from MH Ross. Contacted Squaremouth who emailed MH Ross with a cc: to me and MH Ross emailed the policy within a matter of hours. Very pleasant and efficient.
The coverage was affordable and comprehensive. It was great not having to worry about what might happen if something went wrong. The customer service reps were knowledgeable and easy to do business with.
Best price for the best value. Needed pre-trip medical insurance proof to get a visa and they provided it quickly and without any hesitation. Though true test is if you have to use the insurance which I did not, I still will continue to access my travel insurance through squaremouth to find a best value and price travel insurance on future trips.
Three days before departure, there was a hurricane forecast to hit my town one day after I was supposed to leave. If indeed the hurricane held to this track I wanted to be able to cancel my tour so that I could stay home, prepare my house, and evacuate my possessions including my pets. I called MH Ross travel insurance and although I would be covered for reimbursement if the hurricane hit where I was traveling to, there was no coverage for cancellation if I had had to stay home to take care of my own house. I think this is an oversight that needs to be addressed. I almost had to lose the cost of my entire tour :-(

We understand you are concerned there was no coverage for a hurricane forecast to hit your town. The standard Trip Cancellation coverage uses specific covered reasons for cancelling in order for benefits to apply. One of those reasons needs to be satisfied in order for a claim to be paid. You are correct; the threat of a hurricane at your home is not one of these covered reasons. The only way to cover cancellation because of a threat of a storm is the Cancel For Any Reason benefit. Unfortunately, the plan you purchased does not include this coverage. Please understand it is our responsibility to process all claims according to the plan’s provisions, limitations, and exclusions, even when it is an unfortunate situation that is out of your control. Please also accept our apologies that we are not able to provide the resolution you wanted. Your satisfaction as a client is a top priority for MH Ross. I recommend squaremouth as they were most helpful and easy to work with. It was my first time purchasing travel insurance and when needed again I would go to squaremouth
The call center was extremely helpful with questions that were asked. Calls were answered promptly. I didn't file a claim so it would be difficult to rate just how a claim would have been handled.
