    I purchased RoamRight travel insurance for my granddaughter and myself for a trip to London and Paris.
    My mother died while we were finishing up the London part of the trip. We had to fly home from London, rather than Paris, and we were unable to use our Paris hotel, Eurostar tickets, tickets for Versailles or our return air ticket. I filed a claim upon returning and it was handled promptly and efficiently. I was VERY satisfied with the company. I will buy travel insurance from RoamRight for future trips and would highly recommend it to my friends.

    i have not heard back from my claim yet. it's been a couple of weeks. frustrated.

    They were friendly, great to work with, and though it took a few weeks to get the claim evaluated and completed, it all went smoothly. I'll definitely be using them again when I go overseas for more hiking in the spring.

    My luggage was lost and I filed a claim. I was told that it was only insured for the first leg of the trip, not the second, and therefore, i would not be paid. Nothing in the papers I've received from you says that only the first leg of flight is covered.
    I would NOT recommend this insurance, as it is falsely presented or executed, and I am going to appeal and, if necessary, report this to BBB.

    It is unfortunate that your airline mishandled your luggage on your trip home. However, as stated in the description of coverage you received upon purchase, baggage delay coverage applies to outbound journeys only and covers “the expense of necessary personal effects, up to the maximum shown on your Confirmation of Benefits, if your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve hours, while on a trip, except for travel to final destination or place of residence.”
    As you were returning to your place of residence and your luggage was ultimately returned to you, baggage delay coverage does not apply to your situation.

    Process was slow and I am not sure it would be completed by now without Squaremouth's help. I would not recommend it but it may have been my fault since I did not read the small print as carefully as I should as to the requirements for baggage delay.

    In regards to the timing of your claim, it was approximately three weeks from the time your claim was submitted to the time the claim was closed.     Took almost 6 months to give me a decision. Then I was told claim would not be paid

    As you are aware, it took some time to obtain all of the necessary documentation required for us to fully process your claim. Upon receiving all of the documentation, it was revealed that your trip was cancelled prior to the effective date on your travel insurance policy. If you have any questions about how travel insurance can protect your future trip plans, we encourage you to contact the travel insurance provider prior to purchasing the policy.

    Roam Right responded to my questions during the one day emergency delay I faced on my trip to Iceland. They provided the information I needed at the time.

    On my return, when I went to file the claim, I found them not very helpful, simply directing me to the internet.

    However, my claim was ultimately paid, so all's well that ends well!

    We chose this policy over the one being offered by the company we were booking our trip with because RoamRight was more comprehensive for less money. Easy decision. We didn't need to make a claim but it was good knowing someone was watching our backs so far from home.
