    I got very sick on our trip and on the second trip to the German doctor he thought it would be a good idea to go home and get medical attention from my local doctor. We called your 24 hour line and your rep told us what we needed to do to terminate our trip early. I am home now and under local care. I have mailed our claim to you and it should be in your hands in a day or two. The 24 hour assistance was very helpful in our time of need. If you have questions about our claim please contact me.

    Getting the required statement from the doctor in Germany was very hard to do. I am not sure why it was required after sending in 2 statements from two different doctors I am seeing here in California for the condition.
    Also I never received anything that showed how the amount that was paid was calculated. While the total was in the ballpark I do not know how it was arrived at.

    I had to file a claim for illness before departure date. My experience if filing claim and receiving my money for it was excellent! It approximately 2 weeks for the full payment reimbursement to be received. Thanks Square Mouth for the great service.

    I had to cancel my trip due to medical issues. I submitted all the requested documentation by e-mail and received a full refund within 3 weeks for the amount claimed.

    Well it subject to review. We were unable to travel as my 85 father had urgent surgery.
    I let them Tin Leg know 3 days before trip. Faxed all info on the 8/28. Waited a week called and told them I received no acknowledgement of fax. Told to wait. Called back 8 days later at which time they acknowledged fax but told to wait again. So if they come through I would be willing to change review.

    The claims process can typically take 30-45 days. I confirmed with our claims department your claim was received on 8/31/15 and was paid on 9/18/15.

    The policy was easy to purchase but everything after that was difficult. I have purchased 6 prior policies from Squaremouth and never previously needed to file a claim. I filed a claim for the first time after a recent trip and after a number of weeks without a response I called Tin Leg. The customer service representative informed me that they had misplaced my paperwork. A few weeks later I called back and received contradictory information from another representative. A few weeks later and after multiple phone calls my claim was rejected. I filed an appeal and this was also rejected after an inordinate amount of time and phone calls. I contacted the Zero Complaint team, and found no effective advocacy. I have since started purchasing travel insurance through a different company and no longer use Squaremouth.

    Unfortunately, your claim was not payable due to the fact your condition started before your trip began. Your travel insurance policy is designed to provide coverage for a condition that starts after you depart for your trip.

    It typically takes 30 days to process an appeal. I confirmed with our claims department you submitted an appeal on 7/10/2015. The denial was upheld on 8/10/2015.

    Policy was very easy to understand, with clear single sheet summary and access to other info (i.e. definitions, terms). Customer service was good - got a human on the phone quickly who promptly answered questions. I would recommend them...I've used TinLeg more than once.

    My trip was cancelled by the tour company due to insufficient number of travelers. The policy had no provision for this, so my claim was denied. I think that cancellation by tour company should be part of every policy, even if the cancellation is not due to weather, political unrest etc.

    I apologize for your negative experience. Unfortunately, lack of member participation within your tour group is not a covered reason for cancellation. This is standard with all travel insurance policies.

    This claim has been filed; however, it is on hold until after 12/2/2105 as it involves a claim for travel cancellation with United Air. We have until 12/2 to rebook. We will not be doing so but need to wait until after that date to confirm that we did not rebook and that credit card insurance is not paying a claim under its trip cancellation coverage. This makes sense.

    We are very happy with TinLeg as this has been a frustrating travel year. Earlier Turkish Air lost all of our luggage (3 suitcases.) TinLeg did compensate us for this loss. It was not total reimbursement but followed the guidelines and our entitlement.
