    First time purchasing travel insurance. Felt Tin Leg made it easy, and Square Mouth offered the plan I wanted for a competitive price. Will considered using them again the next time I travel.

    We just returned from the trip. We did experience a delay on thee return leg of the trip due to the winter storms in the New York area and are filing a claim. So far the process has been smooth.

    We should have informed you right away of what was needed to process your claim and we did not. Your concerns have been addressed and additional training has been provided to our agents.

    Our trip was delayed for medical reasons which added $2,000 in airline fare. Our claim was rejected on dubious grounds. If we had canceled the trip (which we considered), we would have been refunded $15,000. Tin Leg should have refunded us the $2,000.

    Tin Leg was also dishonest. When I called on Feb 4, I was told by Rachel that a decision will be made in a week. Today, Feb 9, I received a letter dated Jan 30 rejecting our claim.

    We would never recommend Tin Leg.

    I apologize for the frustration this has caused you. Your claim was denied because your trip was delayed prior to the scheduled departure date. Unfortunately, Trip Interruption and Travel Delay benefits are designed to provide coverage if your trip is interrupted after you start traveling. The only benefit that is available prior to leaving home for your trip is Trip Cancellation. I apologize, you would have needed to cancel your entire trip in order to qualify for this coverage.

    I am sorry we failed to clearly inform you of the status of your claim. When you called for an update on February 4th, your claim was in the final stage of review and the agent you spoke with could not see that it had been denied as of the 30th. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to streamline the claims process in the future.
