Had a 24 hour flight delay, submitted ALL required paper work to start claim and after 2 weeks of hearing nothing I called to see how we were progressing.
They put me on hold for 15 minutes and then proceeded to tell me they never received anything from me, funny I have a USPS receipt of delivery to their location 3 days after I mailed it. Re-sent the entire package again but this time to reduce the size ( 14 pages ) I made 2 sided copies ( 7 pages ) also got a USPS receipt of delivery to their location! Called again after 2 weeks to see the progress of my claim and they said they received it and it is in the system with the claims reviewers.
Nothing again for almost 3 weeks, called again placed on hold until they located someone who was handling the case, the said they have been trying to reach me because page 2,4,6,8,10,12 and 14 were missing. I told them to turn the pages over, Oh the person said this information is on my computer and they scan all claim information into the computer data base.and no longer have any paperwork. Looks like someone did not scan the back sides of the documents. Now this time I emailed the missing pages to the claims agent, finally they confirmed they had all the necessary documents.
Again 3 weeks passed and I had not heard anything. Made contact with claims, and they said that they were working on it.
This claim took from August 18th 2015 when I submitted it to Today December 15th 2015 when I finally got the 3rd of 3 checks. ( we had 3 travelers ) and they screwed that up too. Almost 16 weeks to process a claim for $333.00.
Communication on their side was non existent. They had all of my contact information, phone and email but they never contacted me once.
I would not recommend Tin Leg to handle your travel insurance needs.
I haven't received a settlement or any information about my claim other than that they have received my paperwork.
My wife was diagnosed with cancer 3 months before our trip but after our cruise deposit was paid. We filed a claim for the deposit and a prepaid airline flight. We had some difficulty jumping through all the hoops necessary to verify the medical issues during what was a very stressful time for us , but the Tin Leg agent was patient and helpful and the claim was ultimately paid.
I called Tin Leg customer service to file a claim for $2400.00 in medical expenses incurred on a cruise ship. Within two weeks the claim was settled and I had a check for the full amount. This was the first time I have filed a claim with a travel insurance company and, based on a friend's recent experience with another insurance company, I was expecting a time consuming and frustrating experience. This was not at all my experience. The Tin Leg claims people were very polite and easy to deal with and they kept all call-back appointments as agreed. I cannot say enough good things about Tin Leg. Their prices for the policy were reasonable compared to other providers and their service was excellent! I will definitely buy from them again.
The 24-hour service was amazing as I faced dropping everything to return to the US when my mother passed away. They were compassionate and efficient.
I filed a claim for reimbursement of medical expenses incurred during my cruise. Tin Leg assigned a claims representative to assist me throughout the process. She responded to my queries quickly and completely. She was extremely courteous and fair-minded during the initial interview. Tin Leg provided a convenient way to file the claim online and gave me several alternative methods of submitting supporting documentation. My claim was evaluated and approved within 8 days and I received a check satisfying my claim just 10 days after I submitted my signed claim form. Tin Leg did everything they said they would and provided my wife and I with a superior product at a fair price. I will be using Tin Leg again on our next travel and I highly recommend Tin Leg to other travelers.
Tin Leg handled my claim in the best manner possible. I initially contacted them from Portugal after falling and hurting my ankle. Fortunately, nothing was broken but I had torn ligaments in my ankle and foot. A telephone interview took place after we returned home and I e-mailed copies of my receipts to the claim representative. Filing the claim was very simple. Tin Leg reimbursed me promptly for my hospital visit and for my prescription. Great customer service as promised!!!!
There was no support or assistance provided when I was sick and needed transport from a tented safari camp to a city hospital.
Your service was awful. Claim was paid slowly and partially declined with no information on why or how to re-submit.
I felt I should had received more for my claim. I had receipts that were not considered in my final settlement.
Had to cancel trip 9 months before departure because wife developed an consuming aversion to a European vacation, due to repeated incidents of terrorist violence there. Contacted Squaremouth, who refused to consider a refund.
In contrast, the travel company refunded both airfare, and cruise fees. As a result, I would not recommend Squaremouth to anyone contemplating travel.
