    I've purchased insurance before but never had a reason to file a claim. I typically purchased Cancel for Any Reason and was always worried the insurance company would find some reason to dispute claim or delay payment. On this trip, my daughter had to change plans so I had to cancel a Jetblue/Delta flights. Both carriers charged cancellation fees and gave ups credits. Completing paper work was time consuming but I understand the insurance companies must need proof of what was purchased, when it was canceled, and what the resulting loss was. Within 10 days, I got a check for the full amount I calculated. I'm very satisfied with Insurance company performance. It worked!

    I am filing a trip interruption claim due to a cancelled flight. The procedure so far was straight forward. It will take me a month to get all of the supporting documentation.

    Had to cancel prior to departure due to illness, when I called to learn how to start claim I was informed I needed an excuse from doctor- so I made a trip to get that only to learn that what the person meant was a form that they would be sending- so it took two 15 miles trips to doctor in snowy weather to get things completed. We are two weeks into claim process...still waiting.
    We have used Squaremouth multiple times on trips, in fact after illness and recovery we did a quick rebook and used you again.

    Buried in the policy was an item that stated that for my wife's medical condition, that developed shortly before our scheduled trip, for it to be considered, she should have been hospitalized. It was not enough that she saw a physician and was given medication.
    The problem was mine in that I missed it, but as a physician, I know that hospitalization for what occurred was not a true medical necessity.
    It was a good way for the insurance company to negate payment. It was an easy item to miss. My wife would have rejected hospitalization in any case.
    Extra warning to consumers about this clause would be good to do.

    1. I had an eye issue that might not have resolved itself before the trip. Travel Insured gave me advice on how to proceed (we went.)
    2. We had a car drive through he sidewall of our attached garage two weeks prior to departure. I obtained additional information about our coverage We were able to have sufficient repairs completed prior to our trip that we could leave with confidence.

    Not only was the price for the insurance excellent, the associate was very clear about the benefits and made me feel comfortable about choosing the plan I did. I will definitely recommend this website.
