    During Trip
    We never went on the trip due to the death of a family member.

    Claim Process
    We still have not yet received monies from our claim. The insurance company required extra paperwork, much of which we had already sent. Still waiting for a reply or check from the last info we sent.

    I recommend travelers, specially for a trip out of country to buy an insurance for self-protection! I feel very lucky being able to have Squaremouth for my insurer. I got good service for emergency repatriation with 2 RNs escorting me from abroad back to the US. My claim for trip interruption is pending for approval. I will also claim for medical emergency reembursement. Squaremouth shows to be very supportive and provides good service!

    Recommended by travel agency. Used previously on another trip and scheduled for use on a third time. This will be our first claim to process. Excellent customer service in selecting plan and easy to do over the phone. Good response on initially filing a claim, but there is considerable paperwork to complete and documentation to be provided with any claim. I have already recommended the policy to another friend that is going with us on our next trip and they likewise got the same type of Global Alert Preferred policy.

    Cancelled trip using "any reason" rider; documentation requested was reasonable,processed fairly quickly, amount reimbursed was as expected.

    First, the trip for which this insurance through Global Alert was purchased did not occur. My spouse suffered two pelvis fractures prior to the departure date of the trip so the trip was cancelled for medical reasons. A claim was submitted to Global Alert via Priority Mail and received on November 21 by the insurer. Today is December 21 and Global Alert still hasn't completed their "review" of the claim. The medical situation is straight forward and all the medical support information was part of the mailing to Global Alert. It is frustrating that this "review" seems inordinately slow in settling the claimed amount. When I have called twice to inquire about the status I am told to be patient. At this point I would have a hard time recommending Global Alert as a trip insurer because of their handling of this matter and insensitivity to a customer's situation.

    I had a question having to do with the possibility of adding the cost of a hotel stay to our plan. (I'd not included the price of this non-refundable pre-paid stay when I initially purchased our travel insurance.) But, I could never connect with a live person in the customer service department. Very frustrating! I finally gave up and just took a chance with the insurance that we already had.

    Have to hold a long time on telephone for customer assistance. So far I have not heard anything after filing proof of claim over 22 days ago. When I call I'm just told that they're behind.

    I find your site extremely helpful in comparing coverage and selecting the items that are important to me for trip insurance. Mu husband got ill on our trip and he has
    been dealing with Global Alert. It was a very tedious process to submit the claim. We have not heard back from them yet.

    WE ended up getting the full amount of the claim - approximately $4,500. But my husband submitted It about Sept 7th or 8th and it took until October 24 for us to get payment. I'm not sure everyone insuring with them could wait that long without some financial deficit. Thank you. Julie Crum

    Extremely unhappy, claim is in dispute. I would never use them or you ever again. I paid for canel any time insurance for the entire span. The "bad word" insurance comapmy is denies claim becuase girl friend got pregnant. They refused claiming it was pre existing condition on Feb 1st and I paid for insurance meid march. SHE wasnt pregnant feb 1st and they know that.
