The Cancel For Any Reason upgrade allows travelers to cancel their trip for any reason.
If you are afraid to travel after the Brussels terrorist attacks, or you no longer want to visit Europe because of the State Department’s Europe Travel Alert, you may cancel your trip for these reasons if you have Cancel For Any Reason coverage on your policy.
However, if you cancel for a reason that is not otherwise specified within your standard travel insurance policy, such as fear of traveling, you will only be reimbursed up to 75% of your trip cost.
Cancel For Any Reason adds an average of 40% to the cost of a premium and comes with the following stipulations:
- You must insure 100% of your trip cost
- You must purchase your policy with the upgrade within 14-30 days of your first booking or deposit toward your trip
- You must cancel at least 2-3 days before your departure date
