Yes, you can still buy travel insurance for your upcoming trip to New York, but no policies purchased on or after September 17 will include coverage for the bombings on that date.
As of September 17, 2016, coverage is no longer available for the bombings in New York and New Jersey on that date. This means you can no longer buy a policy that will cover you to cancel your trip because of the bombings of September 17.
However, travel insurance is still available for future trips, and many policies will still include coverage for any future attacks.
There are some travel insurance policies that exclude Terrorism coverage for a terrorist attack if a previous attack has occurred in the same destination within the past 30-90 days. This could affect the availability of coverage for upcoming trips on some policies.
Read through a policy’s Terrorism coverage before you purchase it, or view our Terrorism Benefit page to view the Terrorism coverage for every policy available on squaremouth.com.
