If you contract the Norovirus while traveling, you may be covered for related medical expenses and to return home early if medically necessary. Contact your provider’s 24-Hour Emergency Assistance department as soon as possible for advice and direction.
The Emergency Medical benefit is designed to reimburse the costs of medical treatment associated with a medical emergency incurred while traveling. If an evacuation is required or the treating physician determines you need to return home for treatment, you may be covered by the Medical Evacuation benefit.
The Trip Interruption benefit can also cover you to return home early if you contract the Norovirus. This benefit is designed to reimburse you for return travel and the unused portions of your trip. In order to be covered, you must be able to provide medical documentation from a licensed physician prohibiting travel.
