I purchased my policy late on a Saturday night. I received multiple errors and continued on my trip thinking I did not have travel insurance. I asked for a phone call the followig Monday, which I did not receive. Was I ever surprised to return home from my 3-week trip to see that my policy had been processed. Had something happened on my trip, I would not have even known I was covered.
I did not use any coverage during my trip.
I had no claim, so cannot evaluate the company's performance. I see I had confusion about the period covered by the insurance. It seems like it only covered the Tanzania portion of the vacation. We were in Europe for 6 days before arriving in Tanzania; and we were in Europe for 3 days after leaving Tanzania. I thought the policy covered our whole vacation. Although it is not crucial this time, I wonder if other people get confused like me on this issue!
Bought this policy having doubts to begin with. Tried to file a claim and was told the policy didnt cover the reason for the claim which was cancelation. Not suprised at all, there is a reason insurance companies trade on open markets and indices.

We didn't file a claim. If circumstances had been slightly different we might have wanted to.... We were at an oceanfront home on the shore and found out when we got down there that dredging was going on -- something I never considered. In the future I'll consider the possibility of purchasing "cancel for any reason" coverage. Perhaps it would be helpful if you had a list of such possible situations for shoppers to consider -- and confirm that the vast amounts of small print in your contracts wouldn't mean the situation was excluded from coverage.
